That settles the slavery debate. It was just part of their culture. Forget everything about Islam being the perfect way of life for millenia to come as prescribed by the Creator of the Universe Himself and his prophet the most perfect man that has ever lived. Slavery didn't start or stop w islam. Islams main purpose wasn't to address slavery, but when it did it simply gave a prescription to the people of Arabia to free their slaves.
