Dude that's just a mathematical equation: distance / speed = time
So 2457 m / 500 mph = 4.95 hr. (Or 4 hr 57 min)
It's only presented as reference, presumably to show that actual flying time is longer, I don't know. But what ACTUALLY happens is that when flying cross country, flying time for travel West to East is shorter than flying time East to West.
