Convince me why I should like Prince. Not even over MJ but just in general.

Women who are Prince fans are WHOLE FREAKS.

:takedat:

It pays to know a lyric or two, and have a playlist on standby.

You know
It’s understandable. Prince was a rock based/Funk/Soul artists. Not Everyone’s cup of tea. This coming from a fan of his work. It wasn’t until I got older Is when I really listened to his albums.

I'll put it like this and i don't mean any offense. Maurice White is probably my fav artist of that era.

If you mean singer then, yeah he ain’t for everybody. But he’s probably the goat at being so good at everything. He’s just a goat musician, like Stevie, Isaac, or Barry. Mike is probably the goat dancer or performer. I liked a lot of prince’s music growing up, but I didn’t really appreciate what he meant to music until I was an early adult. I like EWF as a whole, no matter who’s singing lead. It’s crazy how all those groups and bands, from that era, had such a concentration of goat technical skills to make what they did. From the writing, composing, mixing, mastering, instrumentation, choreography, etc.

He's probably the most prolific musician in modern history, with multiple classic albums and some of the biggest/best hits ever. Listen to Purple Rain, the album. Hard to imagine anyone disliking it.

Prince’s genius shines in his live performances. Many of his songs sound nothing like his live renditions for some reason. He’s before my time but my mom was a huge fan, still I didn’t see the hype until I began to listen to live rips from his concert. Just play this and his brilliance becomes evident:

I just remembered that Prince had a number one:
- album (Purple Rain)
- single (When Doves Cry)
- movie (Purple Rain)

All at the same time in the summer of 1984
:wow:
