I'm still shocked that this movie is free to watch on YouTube. I ain't complainin', though.

Every Black movie I watch from the 70s, I get kinda jealous because I wish I was a teenager during that era. From Car Wash, Which Way Is Up, to Cooley High. With my momma and uncles being from Chicago and about the same age as the characters in Cooley High, I envisioned that this is how they kicked it lol

I'm watching this shyt right now on some 70s movie binge shyt. Gonna watch Car Wash next, but the bad part about that is I'm gonna wanna watch The Wash which came out in the 2000s:russ:

Slim the GOAT. Peep the avi:banderas:

But compared to today, the 70s seemed like a simpler time

I didn't know "Cooley High" was based on the year 1964. No wonder some of the greatness hits from the 60's were missing from the movie, like "Oh Baby Baby", "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", "Jimmy Mack", etc... I think the movie would have been even better if they moved it up 2 or 3 years. I mean songs like these three practically made the 60's.

Unless my memory is getting this mixed up with the Temptations, I could've swore that song was in the movie during the party scene when they was slow dancing.

You're right, "Ooo Baby Baby" was in the movie, another reason everybody was in love with this film. When I just discovered "Cooley High" was based on 1964, I began to think this song wasn't included, since it wasn't released until 1965. So I began to only think the song was in the movie, the same way I always thought "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" was in the movie...which really wasn't.

It looks like a few other classics from 1965 were in the movie too.
