I was on my 2nd month at a job and one morning, i said "what up, brotha" to this Black dude.

He just looked at me like .

10 minutes later, he pulls me to the side and says "Dont refer to me as brother if you dont address the white workers the same way. I want to work in racial harmony"

I guess yall might say I acted like a c00n, but hell it is what it is.
I was at a contract with the state and a co-worker came up to me with they wassup brother and gave me dap.
I told him I'm cool with dapping, but my name is ________ and just call me that, because I don't call anyone brother or homie or anything like that.
We're still cool so maybe I was able to say it right and not come off as c00nin, that and I typically get on everyone so no one thinks I play favorites.

I'll rather make 60,000 a year knowing I stayed true to myself, the values my mom and family put in me growing up, and my culture, than making 100k being a bootlicking c00n who can't even look myself in the mirror.

What if you have no degree and make 25K because of circumstances, while keeping your pride and respect? Thats the reality for most. Everybody aint out here making 50 or 60 Gs a year. And yes I've seen the comfortable Blacks move up more often in the work place. It is what it is

I think its sadder that anyone looks at 50 - 60k as extravagant or living large.
Most of my peers and myself, all black make in that range at least.

As for making the best of your circumstances by all means do that, but don't settle where you are if you don't like it, invest in yourself and a marketable skill so you can demand more money because your skill is worth it.

What I was getting at is, the lower wage jobs with the c00nish co-workers - the co-worker c00n that has more of chance of moving up the ladder vs. everyone else making $10 - $12. That c00n who tap dances to the top could easily reach 50K. 50K at $10 - 12$ per hr is like David staring at Goliath. Meanwhile the dude making chump change has his respect and pride in tact but nothing to show for it. Going home broke.

I can't think of any over the top c00ning when I was in the army but it was c00n central. Don't be shocked at ex-military c00ns. Thats where they perfect their craft. I know plenty of brothas that were "the black guy" in their crew. Never hung with us, used white slang, went to the redneck bars, and wouldnt know the 1st thing to say to a black girl. In my unit, for a good year and a half I was the only married black dude that was married to a black woman. And my dude Will was the only 1 married to a white chick that just barely skated into the fukkable zone. My man Cope was married to a frog face white chick with no teeth. Literally none.
