some players in all sports only play the sport and arent really fans of the sport or know many players, ie they never really watched pro sports like fans like us do
and - mccants and hedo were not really some impactful players people talked about or wanted to be like or whatever. zero all star selections in between them
Im sure younger players in the NFL will give you blank stares if you ask them who David Boston is, and he did more in the NFL than those two did in the NBA combined.

I want him to play the same card game with Jerry West, Wilt, Oscar Robertson, Julius Erving, Kareem, Hakeem, Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing, Gary Payton, etc... all the Hall of Famers
If he can't name any of them, then lets see ya'll reaction. The NBA is terrible at passing down history of it's own league. No need to make excuses for it

It’s not really that it’s the social climate. These kids grew up on instagram and tik tok. All they know is 25 second clips And it’s completely fried any semblance of an attention span they could have had.
There ain’t a single gen-z player that knows actual nba history. Their B ball knowledge starts at like 2010.
And they simply just don’t have the attention span to sit down and watch games, study players, read up. They aren’t able to process like that.

Due to social media, not playing with helmets, video games (historic teams, classic player cards).
