Guidelines say that the teacher should refrain from becoming angry, give the child a clear consequence for their defiance, and if they still choose not to leave on their own, then continue class and give them the consequence once it's over. There needs to be some sort of official protocol on what to do in cases like this where a student is disruptive (allegedly) and then when the resource officer show up they just squat in the chair. Ive witnessed incidents that came to blows between a teacher and student because a student (who wasnt even supposed to be in our classroom) acted a donkey and then said he aint going nowhere when the resource officer showed up. The teacher and resource office attempted to pick up the desk while the student was still in it and then the student started punching the teacher in the face. shyt was wild.
The only thing forcefully removing them does is further disrupt class, give them the attention they want and reinforce the bad behavior.
