Don’t sleep on pawn shops. Especially ones in suburb areas. Times have been hard and a nice laptop is pretty easy to come by for a deal.

Whats the point of being a laptop if I have to have extra space or a table available just to insert a simple SD card? Especially in my line of work where space isn't always available.
Its more of them removing basic stuff just so they can sell you something that only works with their products to do what they removed.

My question is did you buy the Mac or did your job provide it?

If it was provided by your company I can sympathize. If not I mean it’s really on you...

A dock is a necessity for me at desk. Although, the one I use is way more expensive and powerful TS3 Plus | Thunderbolt 3 Dock – CalDigit. Not made by apple either and works with any computer similar to first.

Yeah I see folks using the same mac for years while the acer would likely need to be replaced after 3 years

My only issue is apparently some apps crash on the new OS because it is so new

Playas, I'm still using a MB Pro from 2010.


Can't say it runs like a dream, but as long as the itunes still works and can transfer music to my ipod nano from 2010 as well, I'm golden like grahams.


But seriously considering the 14 incher (yes hetero) slated for release latter half of this anos.

I need a new laptop soon but am holding off from buying a mac because of their creep-ware.

So it's either the Dell, a prism/pure or a linux laptop.

Maybe google's move to stop tracking and iOS 14 are signs that privacy issues will start being taken seriously so I am basically waiting to see what happens for the time being.

I have spec'd up MBP 16 inch and my company ordered me a base $700 Mac mini with only 8gb ram. the m1 machine renders videos on final cut faster than the high end intel pro machine and the fans hardly ever come on.

I got the 13” Pro with the M1 Chip in December.

I like it so far. They’ve also seem to solve the issue where previous MacBooks would overheat with it sounding like a jet engine. My only complaint is that I wish it had more than 2 thunderbolt USB 4 ports.

The true pro machines are coming with a second iteration of the M1 chip. currently the MacBook Air is the Best Buy and you probably don't even need the cooling that the MBP has. as I mentioned before. im doing heavy video editing on a base m1 Mac mini

I don't know if you know this but most Americans are struggling. The middle class is almost non existent, healthcare is expensive and inflation has aggressively outpaced wages for decades. $1400 aint scratching the service for most people to get ahead in this country. MFs drowning in 6 figure student loans and won't be able to own a home in their lifetime

Windows is a bloated crashy POS. you can say what you want about apple but I never have to deal with that Restart twice a day laggy BS. and apples silicon is giving you more performance for the money than any other manufacture now?

you won't find a windows laptop for $1000 that can compete performance, thermals or batt life wise with a display on par with apples IPS panel.
