Joey made a Middle Child part two for that very reason...I'm already hearing it on ESPN.
The Rev3nge is so much better than Middle Child. I think it’s a get back for Cole using the sample from Wave$ on False Prophets.

Lost boy was better. This was still good tho. Nobody expected him to go double plat so he’ll eat off his tours and we’ll eat off his music :yeshrug:

Gunna isn’t a MC that puts his pen game to use?
No wtf :russ: and i like both dudes and listened to both their new albums.

We know he can spit, but I’d like to see him be more introspective and discuss some real issues on future releases. This album lacks depth. You still don’t get a good sense of who he actually is.

One could argue the same is true of Drake, Cole, and Kendrick. Lyrically, it's all surface level. The difference is Drake made a lane for himself with these relationship confessionals, no matter how shallow. Kendrick does a lot of rapping even when it has no point, but he's convincing. It took Cole to drop Forest Hills Drive to really connect because before that, it was like he just there. Cordae is where Cole was at prior to Forest Hills minus the hits and the fan base.

How EXACTLY Did Cole have such a strong fanbase if he wasn’t connecting:gucci:

sideline story sold 218k

born sinner sold 297k

for comparison, GKMC sold 240k

and

TPAB sold 324k

Cole, Wale, Drake, Wiz, Sean, and eventually ASAP

pretty much dominated the youths ears at one point. I know because I was one during that time :mjlol:And this was pre FHD. What is that man talking about?

Probably the closest to my take on this, including how you described the others. I didn't even know who this cat was until he did a promo run last week. Listened to an interview and walked away impressed. Gave the album a spin and while I enjoyed the production I do think it's lacking something. He can obviously spit but if I'm being honest I don't remember what most of the songs were about. Not a knock on him though and I would like to see him win. Smart dude. Sidenote but his Tiny Desk performance was pretty good.

This.

I had heard of him due to an article about Dr. Dre taking interest in him. My first time hearing him was on the remix of Nas's "Life Is Like A Dice Game". I checked some of his new album out and he has vibes similar to early Cole.

Thought this would have done more than Lost Boy considering the success that album ended up having.

Albums good so ill keep listening to it. Son needs to keep working and touring just like Cole did in those early days.

Hopefully we actually get to hear him and Dre one day soon.

His girl gonna leave his ass soon :mjlol:

Can't be with no c-list rapper when she a legitimate worldwide superstar.

Dude can rap but his music is super boring/mid. He doesn't have a story or anything interesting to say. Just be rapping "bars" and that's not enough in 2022.

I heard a nikka called him J-Warm :russ:
Tyler doesn’t really have a story or anything interesting to say but he’s transparent and puts equal care to flows and melodies.
