The Rev3nge is so much better than Middle Child. I think it’s a get back for Cole using the sample from Wave$ on False Prophets.Joey made a Middle Child part two for that very reason...I'm already hearing it on ESPN.

No wtfGunna isn’t a MC that puts his pen game to use?
and i like both dudes and listened to both their new albums.Guess being lyrical ain’t enough. It’s decent but with all those features this is a L. You know it’s a bad time for hip hop when a MC based off skill can’t crack 100k sales in the first week.
One could argue the same is true of Drake, Cole, and Kendrick. Lyrically, it's all surface level. The difference is Drake made a lane for himself with these relationship confessionals, no matter how shallow. Kendrick does a lot of rapping even when it has no point, but he's convincing. It took Cole to drop Forest Hills Drive to really connect because before that, it was like he just there. Cordae is where Cole was at prior to Forest Hills minus the hits and the fan base.

How EXACTLY Did Cole have such a strong fanbase if he wasn’t connecting![]()

And this was pre FHD. What is that man talking about?Probably the closest to my take on this, including how you described the others. I didn't even know who this cat was until he did a promo run last week. Listened to an interview and walked away impressed. Gave the album a spin and while I enjoyed the production I do think it's lacking something. He can obviously spit but if I'm being honest I don't remember what most of the songs were about. Not a knock on him though and I would like to see him win. Smart dude. Sidenote but his Tiny Desk performance was pretty good. One could argue the same is true of Drake, Cole, and Kendrick. Tyler doesn’t really have a story or anything interesting to say but he’s transparent and puts equal care to flows and melodies. His girl gonna leave his ass soon
Can't be with no c-list rapper when she a legitimate worldwide superstar.
Dude can rap but his music is super boring/mid. He doesn't have a story or anything interesting to say. Just be rapping "bars" and that's not enough in 2022.
I heard a nikka called him J-Warm![]()
And was out the top 200 in two weeks. Extending his own record with a 4 album streak of dropping out the top 200 in less than 3 weeks
consistency at its finest
