We just came back from this area yesterday. We went to Big Sur to do some hiking and took our bikes to ride 17 mile drive at Pebble Beach. Wednesday and Thursday was empty but when we left yesterday we drove up to Santa Cruz to pick up a keg of beer and the traffic was terrible. People didn't care if it said beaches were closed. They just parked on the side of Highway 1 for miles. We seen like 4 car accidents including one that started a fire on one of the hills. The one good thing was most everyone was wearing mask.
