You don’t get those years back and what’s another weekend? College kids aren’t waiting around to get the “all clear” signal and they aren’t prolonging this pandemic either

capitalism that values the economy over health has prolonged this pandemic

My job works in Latin America/Caribbean so throughout January and February people in the office weren’t hip. I was hip cause of TheColi and some accounts I follow on Twitter. When Brazil was reporting cases, I was like oh shyt, we gonna have travel disruptions. I stocked up on some masks and sanitizers... in fact I still have some on my desk at work that I haven’t been at since 3/13/20 :damn:

:wow: I knew this shyt was going to be bad. A pandemic like this falls on my top 3 things that this country isn't even close to prepared for and Trump being president was just the icing on the cake

1. A large portion of the power grid going down for an extended period of time
2. Multiple large scale natural disasters ( 2-3 large earth quakes at one time)
3. Pandemic / man made bio weapon

The pandemic is the "softest" one on my list too. I was already stocking up on stuff end of January and was warning most friends 1st/2nd week of February but most didn't listen and were scrambling to get things later on. After April I cut off seeing anybody and have pretty much kept it like that outside of coworkers in the times we haven't been remote, but ive been lucky with that my job was 100 % remote from end or March to August. Then we went to 50% remote Aug-Dec and now it was announced this week those that want to stay remote can continue doing so permanently
