Nearly 40% of hospitalized US coronavirus patients are 20-54.

Younger Adults Make Up Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.
I think the sleeper problem for America is our obesity problem. We have a ton of overweight and obese people, and I'm almost positive I remember reading that more than 50% of Americans qualify as either overweight or obese. So logically I'm guessing that lot of these patients are probably a bit on the hefty side. It's a total guess, but I think it's an educated guess.

But still...to your point and the article you linked, I hope younger Americans read this and decide to take it more seriously.

Ran this by epidemiologist friend and he says while obviously more research needs to be done that he and his circle think this could be a promising treatment. Or at the very least “not being on the battlefield without a helmet.”

Yeah if anyone in a household gets it, everyone in the house should behave as if they have it.

Depending on the size of the house though, there are certain ways to mitigate the risk of others getting it. Much harder if it's a one story home, but ideally in a 2-story home the sick person should have the upstairs to themselves. If they go downstairs, they should wear a mask and gloves, and the people downstairs should close the doors in whatever rooms they are in. Either that or stay upstairs and if they need anything, someone could bring something to the top of the steps while wearing a mask and gloves.

If everyone is on one floor I don't know the best way to play it. It's clearly very hard to keep safe with multiple people in your home if you're sick, and most people don't have the luxury of 2-floor homes.
Good luck quarantining at home in NYC apartments :whoa:

There's a poster in this thread that is quarantined at home and people are leaving food in front of her door. Hope she found out she doesn't have it by now.

Someone @ her :mjcry:

:dead: at CNN having a running death/infection count on the side of the screen
Crazy.

I don’t think it’s a great idea. I get that it’s news and people wanna know. but I’ve been too heavy into this topic since February. I stopped going out of my way to look at infection and death numbers a few days ago. They’re going to climb. I don’t want to just keep feeding my brain negative info like that.

I’ve been looking only at my state’s numbers as of yesterday. We got our first community infection today (meaning they can’t trace it). So that’s not a great sign, but was bound to happen I guess.

Once again: the goal of the GOP is to cripple government via budget cuts and then complain that the government is failing

If the FDA approves some shyt that ultimately does nothing to solve this shyt, instead of doing it the right way and testing it thoroughly, the people will not blame Trump or the GOP they will BLAME GOVERNMENT.

Who runs the government? Who gets blame when a recession happens? Who gets blame when the economy is bad? Trump isn't escaping this, stop over thinking it.
