Why is it creepy? Air Force recon... Airspace is not closed I can personally attest to that since I work closely with the FAA at the area airports

When I look out of my windows it's no what I expect so see floating above the city at low altitude

Idk I don't see anything flying into Newark from one of the paths I know and one of the paths to Laguardia over central Brooklyn isn't being used

I know its purpose and more or less what they're doing, it's just odd

Where did you see it flying low at? Was the landing gear down? You live along the Canarsie approach or the LI/Cross Island approach?

It's been flying relatively low the whole time, landing gear has been up the whole time as well. It was maybe 10-15k feet above the WTC spiral then it flew over towards Prospect Heights and then headed toward Long Island City/Laguardia on one of the approaches they use but then it randomly flew east on no path I've seen used towards Glendale... I figure they must make another loop over the Sound/Bronx and then flew down the Hudson river again and repeated. I've probably seen them do it four times just while I've noticed...

I started noticing some time around 12pm today so it probably lasted a few hours. I just saw a commercial plane flyover now so I'm assuming they're done for now

I've got a pretty intense view when I look out of my man cave/office I'm eye height with the trade center and lower Manhattan/Brooklyn from the rest of the place I can see from lower Manhattan to LIC and beyond

Yawn, nobody has given a sh!t for the past 4-5 years while we blame "the Russians" for attacking our democracy :unimpressed:.

I think we all know that saying "the Russians" doesn't mean the Russian people and refers to Putin & the Russian government :unimpressed:.

Have we been "racist" to Russians for the past 4-5 years? :unimpressed:

People just want to claim anything as "racist" :unimpressed:

Russians are white people and I haven't heard about any increase in attacks on Russian Americans.

No correlation. The rise in hate crimes against Asian-Americans would happen regardless.

When talking about the Nigerian government, you say "the Nigerians"
When talking about the Jamaican government, you say "the Jamaicans"
When talking about the Colombian government, you say "the Colombians"
When talking about the Italian government, you say "the Italians"
When talking about the South Korean government, you say "the South Koreans"

I could go on and on. It's conventional worldwide practice. Nothing racist about it.
Why when talking about the Chinese government can't we say "the Chinese"? :unimpressed:

Yes, you have.

I was always wandering in the last 4-5 year why it seems so hard to say Putin or Russian government instead of Russians.

Although I'm not sure "racism" is a good word for the discrimination of the Eastern Europeans and specifically Slavs in the western world.

Anti-Slavic sentiment - Wikipedia

I know US has a troubled history with Russians since the cold war, but this is an ancient sentiment throughout the western Europe since the Middle ages, and it did not start neither with the cold war nor with the nazism.

This is a sentiment that gave the name to slavery in the Middle ages.

Man, shut the hell up. No, it's not racist and it has nothing to do with "anti-Slavic" or "anti-Eastern European" sentiment.

When referring to the government of another country, you don't generally call it by the person or ruling party (unless you want to be super specific), you just say "the *national demonym*"

When talking about the Canadian government, you either say "the Canadians" or "Ottawa".
When talking about the British government, you either say "the British" or "London"
When talking about the American government, you either say "the Americans" or "Washington"
When talking about the Japanese government, you either say "the Japanese" or "Tokyo"
When talking about the Australian government, you either say "the Australians" or "Sydney"
When talking about the Ethiopian government, you either say "the Ethiopians" or "Addis Ababa"

This is conventional worldwide practice for centuries now. Absolutely nothing racist about it :mjtf: :beli:

WWI and WWII was lowkey on some race war shyt when it came to the Russians. Especially them vs the German. The whole Teutonic vs Slavic people shyt. I never finished this book called Race and Manifest Destiny that does an amazing job on the origins of whiteness from Europe to the New World. What I basically got from it is within the white world there’s a whole separate caste that ranks whiteness by level of “civilization” for lack of a better term. I need to pick that shyt back up it was eye opening.

With that said, saying “the Russians” in this context definitely means the govt and leader.
