@King Static X hold your head breh. Thinking about you and your fam.
Thank you.

:mjcry: i hope she gets rid of the rona soon

was she symptomatic?
Nah, she's dealing with some mental health/drug problems and my father checked her into the hospital a few weeks ago.

She's been in the hospital ever since and she contracted it in the hospital. The hospital is probably the most dangerous place to be right now :francis:

In another bit of positive news, South Korea has the most testing by far and their case fatality rate is only at 0.6-0.8%%. Obviously there could be other factors, but the fact that they have the most people tested and the lowest fatality rate is another good sign that the lethality may be less than some think. 0.8% is still 8 times deadlier than the flu, but it's way better than 3.4%.

More testing = more efficient response = less transmission = less hospitalization = less deaths

If you get tested and you're positive, assuming you're not a sociopath you will self quarantine and not infect anyone else.

There are many ppl who are infected but show no symptoms. Even if they're MOSTLY following the "shelter in place" guidelines, meaning they're not out there panic shopping, going to restaurants or social events - they can and probably are infecting other ppl. Those ppl are then infecting others. This is the problem we're facing and it's most likely too late at this point to prevent the overloading of our hospitals. That's where the deaths come in bc doctors have to prioritize who gets the bed/ventilators etc.

I dapped and repped but FWIW I been saying al this info since 2/28. I been posting in this thread daily since then.

Everything you said is important and worth reading for everyone, but the info I was saying is in no way meant to contradict what you're saying. I've been beating the flatten the curve point to death in here for almost 3 weeks now.

More testing is absolutely necessary, and we are still radically not prepared yet in terms of having enough testing.

So much for the Bay Area's Shelter-in-Place. Not quite as "Martial Law-ish" as you might have thought.

This was at 3pm. I live inland, not high population...very typical Tue. You can't really tell but there was plenty of cars on the road.

Might take a few days, arrests, or deaths to get compliance.

its not compulsory :manny:

And funny. I’m out driving around now. Went to grab some popcorn. Driving through the hoods, life looks the same. Small eateries and corner stores open, but around downtown/the lake lots of small businesses closed.

I really hope they’re putting together some bailout/package for them. We can bail out billion dollar businesses but not the local spots doing a couple hunnid thousand a year?

also rolled by marshawn lynch rolling around my neighborhood in his beast mobile

Breh, I can't even read an article talking about S. Korea's drive thru testing without an overwhelming urge to put a fist through my monitor.

But 'Murica gonna 'Murica

My gf works in a hospital and told me many of the staff there still aren't taking this thing serious. She said there was a guy who came in there with symptoms and got tested. The staff took no precautions and allowed this man to walk into the cafeteria and walk freely around the hospital. So now she is all worried about being exposed. And now I am worried about her exposing me since we live together. We are both healthy young people but this isn't a disease that either of us want.

America is going to fail at containing or mitigating this virus because people simply aren't taking the necessary precautions. Not even in the hospitals where it should be the most strict.
The goddamn hospital staff wasn’t taking it seriously? What state are y’all located in, if you don’t mind me asking. I live in Kentucky and the motherfukkers I’m around....let’s just say they’ll be a little shocked when the bodies start dropping.

Right?

Literally right now I'm going into Target. They got the game on lock cuz all the other stores in this outdoor mall had to close.

I get that groceries and medicine are vital during a crisis, but mofos coming out of there with Nike's, yoga pants, and nail polish.

Just like Amazon and bald lizard Bezos got an infusion package when the govt told everyone to stay home. Like he needed it. Small biz were already on the ropes.

Now everyone's firing while Amazon is hiring.

:martin:
Seems so wrong.

The big corps are either getting a monopoly or a bailout handed to them.

Where's my tin foil hat?

We live in Michigan and the hospital she works in is supposedly one the "best" of its kind. If hospitals cannot protect its workers then it damn sure cant protect patients.
