If you think that’s the maximum you really haven’t been paying attention.

How do think convention centers make money?

a room filled with 20 people for two hours
Or
A comic convention over 3 days? Add the hotels guaranteed three nights at capacity and vendors with packed hungry nerds.
That's one business model fam lol.

You're on the right track but you're wildly optimistic that a lot of the same people who are making money right now or have the reserves to weather this are going to suddenly wake up and do the right thing. I don't think anyone is sh*tting on your proposal as a whole, they just see the obstacles in the foundation of what makes it work.

Having states out of sync (some on stay at home, some in quarantine) is dangerous and why we're having rolling peaks instead of one as a whole. People forget that NY'ers were being targeted for stops on I-95 up and down the eastern seaboard not even a month ago because officials started freaking out that NY being an epicenter and their citizens fleeing south would cause a chain reaction.
I agree and I appreciate your positive response.

Creative problems require creative solutions.

I was just saying I am tired of living through calamitous world events, being that I am 34, I saw 9/11 in real time, (which was light, in San Diego), than the 2008 Recession, in which all 3 of my family members lost their jobs, and now this.

I know a good degree of "conservative" people, and I have heard such utter foolishness, like the administration shouldn't accept any responsibility or blame for the handling of the crisis.

Everything else aside, this isn' even political, for me, under ANY admin of any party, this was massive failure, on every level.

You want to go into music tour or city festivals? The travel involved to lug equipment or staging companies that no longer have business for the busy summer season?

How many cities have project funding partially through meals taxes that will either be cancelled or cut back?

What did I miss? That you guys believe Trump and Mitch will bailout small businesses and eventually taxpayers? I get heat on here for being a realist but you guys are making my brain hurt.
I know you're mad about Bernie @mastermind but there isn't a conservative bone in my body.

Small businesses aren't necessary and our welfare state will pick up the slack. I've overvalued their role in our society. My apologies @Hood Critic and @jj23
FOH :mjlol:

You rather see people die so the economy can run again. That is a conservative take. Nothing I said is wrong and I’m not the only person who noticed this about you. You are what you are, just accept it.

:beli: so we cant have a mature conversation about this, without "anyone who acknowledges that we have to try reopen the economy is a monster who wants people to die"? i mean for fukks sake

i don't want anyone to die. i also don't want millions of people who put 20 years into their business to have to close it for good. the fact is that we have to have a conversation about it :yeshrug:

History has the answers and we still refuse to listen. :snoop:

In 1720, Yersinia pestis arrived at the port of Marseille from the Levant upon the merchant Grand-Saint-Antoine.The vessel had departed from Sidon in Lebanon, having previously called at Smyrna, Tripoli, and plague-ridden Cyprus. A Turkish passenger was the first to be infected and soon died, followed by several crew members and the ship's surgeon. The ship was refused entry to the port of Livorno.

When it arrived at Marseille, it was promptly placed under quarantine in the lazaret by the port authorities Due largely to Marseille's monopoly on French trade with the Levant, this important port had a large stock of imported goods in warehouses. It was also expanding its trade with other areas of the Middle East and emerging markets in the New World. Powerful city merchants needed the silk and cotton cargo of the ship for the great medieval fair at Beaucaire and pressured authorities to lift the quarantine.

A few days later, the disease broke out in the city. Hospitals were quickly overwhelmed, and residents panicked, driving the sick from their homes and out of the city. Mass graves were dug but were quickly filled.

Half the population died in 2 years.

Americans don’t read so we’ll just repeat easily fixable issues that had solutions 400 years ago.

To be fair, we weren't the ones mentioning dying. So maybe you need to re-read the thread to determine where the silliness began.
