This is not a good time with the South just entering the beginnings of Covid-19, now how do you put people infected with the injured. fukking crazy. Not to mention you need to shelter the minor/non-injured.
Maybe the Mayans were right to make human sacrifices :merchant:

When did small business become more important than life? It's entertaining that this is your metric.

And if the government wanted to supplement and or stimulate small business revenue they very well could.

small businesses are life for millions of Americans...

odd to just brush away the livelihood of tens of millions of people but I know this is the "I've got mine society"

It's not about brushing away anything but again, how is that more a priority in this situation?

it's tone deaf and cruel but do you

:manny:

Hope you enjoy your corporate overlords

What do you think the outcome is going to be? lmao

There are 30 million+ small businesses and our society is built on them. What do think is going to happen to the owners of those companies and their families and their employees and their families?

The US is already largely dominated by corporations and people suffer everyday because of it. So what we're going to end up with even more corporate control and an even larger state if society doesn't breakdown completely.

That isn't a society worth living in.

Nothing @Hood Critic said deserved the response from what I can see, but we are obviously interpreting things differently.

i guess blue lives don't matter. :russ:

This is buried deep in the threat back in March from someone else, but they better hope the Feds don't find him.

Suspect killed by FBI during investigation into plot to bomb medical facility

A suspect in a months-long FBI investigation is dead after he was shot by FBI agents during an operation to arrest him.

FBI Special Agent Timothy Langan of the Kansas City field office identified the man killed in Belton, Mo., as 36-year-old Timothy Wilson, according to The Associated Press.

The suspect reportedly planned to use a vehicle-based explosive device in an attack on a hospital in the Kansas City area. Many hospitals around the country have been overwhelmed in recent days by cases of the coronavirus, with tens of thousands of cases reported across the country.

FBI officials told CNN that the case involved the bureau's efforts against racially motivated extremists, adding that the investigation was part of a probe into violent white supremacist movements and had uncovered credible threats made by Wilson.

"The FBI takes any shooting incident involving our agents seriously," FBI spokeswoman Bridget Patton told the network. "In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident will be investigated by the FBI's Inspection Division. The review process is thorough and objective, and is conducted as expeditiously as possible under the circumstances."

Law enforcement officials have warned in recent days that white supremacists and other politically motivated terrorist groups could seek to weaponize the novel strain of coronavirus, which has sickened more than 470,000 globally.

"Because coronavirus appears to meet the statutory definition of a 'biological agent,' " Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen wrote of possible intentional efforts to spread the disease in a memo obtained by CNN, "such acts potentially could implicate the Nation's terrorism-related statutes."

:beli: so we cant have a mature conversation about this, without "anyone who acknowledges that we have to try reopen the economy is a monster who wants people to die"? i mean for fukks sake

i don't want anyone to die. i also don't want millions of people who put 20 years into their business to have to close it for good. the fact is that we have to have a conversation about it :yeshrug:

Let’s talk about it then. If we open up too soon, the virus spreads rapidly through the population and given the numbers under quarantine, the numbers would be insane.

This guy is a research scientist and he estimates 300K dead a day if we let the virus wash over a population of 300 million.

Those kinds of numbers would shock the economy and bring everything to a complete standstill. The effects would be much, much worse than the controlled shutdown that we are dealing with right now.

So what’s the argument for opening early?
