This current (consumption/ service) economy is molded around China...Hell Walmart was once described as warehouse of Chinese goods....if im not mistsken, laws were changed to facilitate that...im sure you can throw the dollar stores in that bag, which are one if if not THE fastest growing stores....im imagining that's jus the beginning

Then you get into the fact that the majority of people arent making enough money to consume American produced products nowhere this current rate...(gig economy ...migrant labor n those competing with it lmao)

...the idea will require radical structural reform ...well beyond bernie or the current spectrum of American politics...and we see how lukewarm his reception was..White disregard and greed stalemated them into maintaining this...indefinitely maybe

Yeah, its not happening in our lifetimes without some type of global economic upheaval.

Capitalism and the search for expanding profits means companies will do what it takes to keep profit margins as large as possible. Cheap labor is easiest way to do it.

It's not about completely moving away from China (that probably won't happen). It's about a gradual fazing out and limiting China's influence.

Also, the pressure on China shouldn't just be about the economic factor or coronavirus. The South China Sea dispute, the killing of the Uyghurs, the treatment of Hong Kong & Taiwan, etc. The whole world needs to put more pressure on China for all of this other stuff too.

I know that it's easier said than done but it can be done. Also, if we do nothing then we might as well just call China "Daddy" because they're gonna be running the world then .

Said it before and I'll say it again, Mitch is the biggest threat to America. Any other time in history in any other country, Mitch would have been dragged out into the street and beaten to death. Instead he remains one of the most powerful men in the world.

You can say the world needs to put pressure on America for its human rights violations... they are noted and publicized on a consistent basis globally....jus not here...The state has been culturally indifferent to united nations inquiries and concerns for decades (for example, america won't grant them access to jails and prisons) now trump n co is reportedly unresponsive to em lol

N people get iffy if you get too critical about America past a supercial level around these parts, so if that aint your bag, replace america with Israel

That's definitely not going to happen. They are the 2nd largest economy in the world.

No country is pushing them on human rights issues because that's usually America's job and our leader currently doesn't care and doesn't know how to use diplomacy. We got out of playing the soft power game in 2016, and it will take a President that uses that as a priority to limit China(EDIT: We're going to need a fukking functioning State Department as well).

The only thing they don't have now, is a military that can project power globally. That's our main advantage and will be a for awhile. They'll shortcut that through other means ie espionage and cyber warfare.

So let's see if straight out of the Trump playbook will actually play out.

Trump dismisses Fuaci. That way he only has half mammal half maga Birx on his team. She doesn't rebuke him like Fauci so he can contain her and she is almost fully brainwashed into the cult.

He will use more verbage out of the Mueller playbook and start calling for an end to the lock down. More and more people will call for it. When not enough people jump on board he will start blaming dems and start calling it a hoax again and that he saved millions of lives.

He pretty much is doing this now but for Trump it's subtle.

This is not about Trump.

President Obama was fairly weak on China (I love Obeezy but I'm just telling the truth). The failure on China is the fault of both the Republican Party & Democratic Party. However, Democrats have been even weaker on China than the GOP.

I fear that if Joe gets elected he'll not be tougher on China than President Obama was. Anyways, like I said, we should start calling China "Daddy" then. They run the world right?
