Restaurants would definitely work, you clearly can only operate at 30-50% capacity depending on how big your spot is, we’re just used to restaurants cramming as many people in to generate as much revenue as possible. Of course you’ll come into contact with severs, but keep them masked and gloved.

The bar doesn’t work given what people go to the bar for - to be around other people.

A vaccine could be 18 months away, could be years, could never really be found, like the flu. This is a hemorrhaging of people's very lives, from top to bottom. It's like bleeding from two wounds, we have to start patching both up the best we can, and go forward. Keeping things locked down, hardline, isn't happening, and isn't really sustainable. California is going to start very slowly, and that's the model other should follow.

Restaurant is doable, the gym would be too if you limit the number of people allowed in at once, shut down every other cardio machine, etc - it’s the sanitation piece I don’t see happening.

How would a gym work when you sweat and touch each and every piece of equipment. Are they going to sanitize the shyt every 5 minutes ?

Ten US nurses have been suspended for refusing to work without N95 masks, AP reports.

Nurses in Santa Monica, California, who refused to care for Covid-19 patients after they say hospital didn’t provide essential protective gear have been suspended.

The hospital suspended ten nurses, according to the National Nurses United, which represents them. The nurses are now being paid but are not allowed to return to work pending an investigation from human resources, the union said.

They are among hundreds of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers across the country who say they’ve been asked to work without adequate protection. Some have taken part in protests or lodged formal complaints. Others are buying or even making their own supplies.

Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention don’t require N95 masks for Covid-19 caregivers, but many hospitals are opting for the added protection because the infection is extremely contagious. The CDC said Wednesday at least 9,200 healthcare workers have been infected.

It’s hard to believe, it’s almost too good to be true. But it’s a remarkable clinical phenomenon.” Staley also stated, “I’ve never seen anything like this in medicine, just so you know. Really, I can’t think of anything. That, you’ve got a disease that literally disappears in hours.”

If you’re a buffet, you have to change your entire setup and cut employees still.

Most the places out here are open doing takeout, I assume they’ll continue to do mostly takeout. And operating at a percent of capacity means they can utilize the staff already present doing takeout orders, maybe a waitress or two

Im paranoid enough going to a grocery store. What I look like ordering a meal in a restaurant with the waiter wearing a mask?

Buffets were before this anyway, and they, at least not out here, make up such a small portion of restaurants.

only place that will have to worry about that en masse is Vegas, and maybe they just have servers dishing things out behind glass...still all you can eat, but someone has to put it on your plate

It’s ain't that serious.

That’s likely going to be the dining experience when things “open back up” whether it’s 5 weeks or 5 months from now. Masks, gloves, sanitizer and wipes gonna be a mainstay everywhere. Edit: everywhere that took/takes it seriously
