Data from Israel, where plenty of people are vaccinated but Covid is obviously spreading among schoolkids.

Right now, in Delta hotspots like Missouri, the unvaccinated are getting sick and hospitalized. The vaccinated are not.

If kids don't get vaccinated soon, this fall will be a dark time. Don't bother telling me I'm fearmongering or something.

Kappa (B.1.617.1) was the other variant from India. Delta is B.1.617.2.

Couple problems here.

First off:

You do realize their 7 day average is 24 cases....while the U.S. is 11,000, right?

Their worst numbers are not as bad as our current numbers, with everything open. So using Israel as an example of an "outbreak" is kinda confusing.

Also keep in mind our 7 day average 6 months ago was 260,000.

So....what does "things are going to get bad" mean in the context of these numbers? You do realize people have been saying this for the last 6-7 months, right....despite numbers continuing to drop.

I'm in Missouri fool. Grew up on 30th and Charlotte in KC. Our weekly average is 786 with 423 new cases yesterday. The 7 day average has been around 700 since February.

The "hotspot" is only because they're going by cases vs 100,000 people. Which is driven by hick ass areas out in the boondocks. I spoke on this earlier in the thread.

I say all that to say this....you cats keep pushing back "when things will get bad" to some nebulous point in the future. First it was when the double mutant touched down. Now it's "in the fall". In the fall it'll be in the winter. Doesn't this get exhausting?

What magical number are you waiting on....zero? That's never going to happen. This is a virus, it's not going anywhere.

I just don't see how people can see a decrease of literally 200,000+ and say "it's been bad the entire time". It's like....what?

meanwhile I have been to Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, UK and am now back in Germany in covid time plus transit in/through France, Czech Rep, Hungary .

pointing out facts is not "sitting around ..."

where have you been?

Why would I, living in a state in the U.S. that has had our 7 day average be around 700 for the last 6 months, care about a UK guy in the Netherlands or Germany?
