If North Texas runs out of ICU hospital beds, doctors can consider a patient’s vaccination status
North Texas doctors have quietly developed a plan that seeks to prepare for the possibility that due to the COVID-19 surge the region will run out of intensive-care beds.

If that happens, for the first time, doctors officially will be allowed to take vaccination status of sick patients into account along with other triage factors to see who gets a bed.

A copy of an internal memo written by Dr. Robert Fine, co-chair of the North Texas Mass Critical Care Guideline Task Force, was sent to members of the task force -- and leaked to The Watchdog. It summarizes the latest work by the task force, a volunteer group that periodically updates medical guidelines for hospitals in our region. There are about 50 members from various hospitals in the group. Although their recommendations are not enforceable, the guidelines are generally followed.

The one-page summary memo is a "heads up" alert in the event things get worse, says Dr. Mark Casanova, director of clinical ethics for Baylor University Medical Center and a spokesperson for the task force. After Monday's meeting, doctors had yet to make plans to inform the public.

"We're trying to decide how to explain this addition to the public," Casanova said.

We are screwed :francis:

it’s still millions on unemployment, that shyt over in 2 weeks. Shutting down would body so many people since government isn’t trying to get people bread to get through this.

Extroverts would probably commit that, since staying inside is fukked up for them
We straight up need UBI. At least through the pandemic. It’s not realistic to expect it, but we definitely need it.

Parents at my kids school district nearly rioted because they refuse to have their kids wear masks in class.

At this point, ive lost hope for anything to change. And as fukked up as this sounds, the parents who opposd this, i hope they kids get hospitalized to change their tone.

It seems these idiots only learn by personal experience :francis:

The sad thing is kids are so resilient and I guarantee they don’t care half as much as their parents.

Not surprising when people think Healthcare will be there for them, and finding out others have taken there spot. Once it gets to that point, you save the people who you can save, and let the others die.

He deserves all the heat for that too, cause I remember in that initial video he straight up declared that hydroxychloroquine would effectively treat Covid-19 before it had even been trialed, and went even further to declare that Covid wouldn't be a global problem cause we had a good cure.

Probably a good 1/3 or more of the hype for that shyt was from people watching that video.
