Hope you're backpacking 2 get money
I'm definitely not, I'm backpacking to gain knowledge about my planet and about myself. I'm also backpacking to be free from this grind that has us obsessing over a concept that they created to engulf us in greed, darkness, depression, and many other things. Aka money

Yo Mowgli...this discussion may sound hippy to you, but listen, life ain't about collective, it's about individual. At the end of da dizzay, you only care about you, your boss only cares about himself.

If you landed a great IT job with great prospects etc etc - AMAZING, I'm happy for ya, but it still doesn't change the fact that you can get fired on a whim of looking sideways at boss' sidechick or what the fukk ever.

As I previously said, I think if you break your balls and eat shyt for your OWN goal in life, you'll be fine, one way or another. If you grind and invest time/energy into something that SEEMS like an adult thing to do and SEEMS like progress, it may occur to you later down the line you done fukked up.

Not trying to be all scary here but earlier this year I ended up in a hospital, complete false alarm, but I swear to you up until the docs told me I panicked for no reason, I was on my phone, googleing shyt about it and all I saw was "cancer A, cancer B". I cried like a bytch thinkin "so if this is it - what the fukk did I do with this gift of life".

Again - not saying we should all take life so dramatically and make a big fuss out of it - it is what it is, we're here, we live - but we should damn well appreciate it more. We are still living english industrial era breh.

They set up these bullshyt ass Monday Friday 8 hours shyts. And we STILL act as if the world would end if that shyt changes. It's a trap. And it's working. If you don't believe me, check Wall Street monthly bonuses and compare it to your projected lifetime earnings.

Death
This the part that's killin me. I'm the youngest fukk here right now, all my colleagues are 10 years deep in the company...maan...ALL of them are fukked up. In the head. All of them gossipin around all day, tryin to back stab whoever, all of them asking me "questions" low key probably tryin to catch me off guard, all of them always talkin same topics...

These people are dead man. They given their best years in life to be in this fukkin safe environment. And the results are...well...awful. I don't wanna end up like that.

I may be completely crazy but not a day goes by that I dont think about quitting and just going full throttle 100% grind on my hobby, see where it takes me. Even if I make minimal money from it, which I believe I could in todays crazy ass world...I'd still take that over making money by living like a drone surrounded by walkin zombies.

:yeshrug:

As for marriage...I do not have clarity right now. I just dont. And I feel guilty about it. A lot of my friends got married, makes me feel as if I'm slackin.

That same shyt your father told you - work ain't supposed to be fun - I feel it also applies to marriage. Put up and get married and don't fantasize about marriage being "ideal" - same with the job.

:wow:

You're on the right path.
Do what makes you happy...regardless of what society or other people think.
As long as you are satisfied with what you choose...fukk the rest.
And do not....
I REPEAT!!!
DO NOT get married!!!
You will NEVER enjoy your dream or the money it will give you when you have a female pulling your strings and making your everyday life and dreams...hell. Don't EVER feel guilty about keeping your freedom and self-sufficiency!!!! If you ask your friends how they REALLY feel about being married...I guarantee you that they will ALL say that they miss being single.
Married life is boring life.
You won't find anyone besides a female that will tell you otherwise.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
What did you do out in Brazil? What did you do after you got back to the States?

I've been in Corporate for about 9 months and in 1 week I determined I couldn't foresee myself doing this for too long just enough to get some money stacked and then live life the way I want to.

I was just living when I was in Brazil, basically my day consisted of going to the gym, chilling at the beach, chilling with the woman I was seeing and enjoying life. I had enough money to live off of for 3-5 years down there without working, the difference in cost of living was massive NYC vs Salvador and I had enough money to open a small gym if I wanted, and other opportunities for part time work (English teacher, personal trainer). I only came back because my family convinced me not to stay :francis:

I worked for a friend when I came back, I did not and will not go back to corporate life, I hated every minute it of it after the appeal of the checks wore off.

Breh

I didn't read through all of the thread so I don't know if this was said yet. But the main thing you need to do is start. People worry about money flexibility but Time is far more important than money. You need to carve out time in your schedule to start making movies like you want to. First start on weekends with filming then dedicate one night per week editing etc. The main thing is that you have to start doing something.

People always say "I don't want to be here" or "I don't want to do this" and I learned a long time ago that no matter where you are or what you want to do, you are doing EXACTLY what you want to do given the consequences. You can always choose to say "fukk this job...I'm out :pacspit: " but the consequences are that you lose the money/income :yeshrug: . You just have to decide what you want and go after it. I know there are cats on worldstar who shoot videos with their phone and who are getting views, people on youtube shooting single shots with their iphone getting views. If you really have what it takes then :salute: and get on your grind. You might have to make some adjustments to life but you can do it.

Good post breh. Positive and aimed towards a good solution. :salute:

I meant working in an environment where small talk and bullshyt politics over mines what quality of work you put in. You have one life to live, and on your best years of your life are being spent in a mentally and emotionally tortured place.

Work for something worth getting good at. Corporate America ain't it anymore.
Then what is it?

I've come to recently realize that everyone should be more selfish in life. We've been conditioned to believe selfishness is a horrible thing and that we should constantly be worried about others well being, worried about others feelings, etc. Why live for someone else though? It's OUR lives. Only if you have a wife and children would I see that as being necessary. You should absolutely do whatever you want to do. Within reason of course.

Dont live with regrets.

I can't live this life but I need the $

I know what I want to do in life but I don't know if I can make $ out of it. But I know it'll make me happy. I got a girl who I should be marrying, but I don't want to because marriage reminds me of repetitive ass life, going to work, back from work, rinse repeat.

I swear bein born un-rich...in this day n age...

:wow:
what is going on bro?

whay are you unhappy in corporate? how are they treating you?

which job would you rather do? passion? how much would it pay? is there training involved?

other ways to make your current job exiting?

I played "Corporate Monkey" for a year off some "Affirmative Action" BS.
Tried to play the game and wound up with -20 fukks to give.
By the end...they were lucky I came in to work at all.
Still got paid for a month for free before they could cut me off.
Went back to the real world working a real job with real peeps making more money.

Top that!

Make movies. I've seen so many interesting characters and things in my life, seein all these mundane youtube videos getting views...why wouldn't someone be interested in mines. I don't want to make big productions. Just me, one man team, talking to people, traveling places, documenting the world as i see it. I need time for that more than anything. How the fukk am I supposed to do anything waking up at 6am and getting home 5 something pm.

I wouldn't complain if I made ungodly amounts of $ here...but I'm not. So it's an average job with zombies who ask me the same question every monday

How was your weekend kid, you got any action, ya know, im alluding to SEX :skip:

:snoop:

And I'm passed the treat-phase. I splurged like that before, put on weight. I ditched all carbs out of my diet past month and I feel great.
I feel you on the wanting to make movies thing. I'm wasting time working at this wack ass job, I get in my own way and every other day I fantasize about roaming the world doing nothing.

But money.....
