If you make 40k a year and are single with no kids, and are willing to have a roommate you will have no problem living in the city IF you are responsible about spending money

Swear some of you are exposing yourself with your warped sense of reality. Is it tough? Sure! So you have to adjust? Sure! But it doable. I make high 40's and make it happen. Just have to learn how to prioritize and stack. Everybody want to live in these little "flavor of the month" spots like some early 20 "artist" that I see in the stuy and Bushwick daily. They not paying for their rent and if they are they live with 10 heads in a 3 bedroom sharing a room with another weirdo. Like i said, you may not be able to hit Ruth Chris every week but once a month is doable.

I make almost $200k a year and I live like a fukking pauper. NYC is no place to be if you aspire to save and build wealth. It costs too damn much.

If you smart and not egotistical, you move to queens and live in a tent in someone's backyard for $500 per month until you can save up for your million dollar condo downtown :troll:

Gentrification is hitting every big city....:francis:

when chicago and detroit gets cleaned up, those prices will rise as well

just like DC and ATL is rising without the transportation to back it up.

Of course West Bumblefukk Tennessee gonna have dirt cheap prices..:manny:

Gentrification is killing disposable income as we knownit. How can you help the economy if all your money going to basic expenses? :what:

Reading that, what it means to me is this, I need to hustle harder. I'm playing for it all period. No excuses! I know it not fair, but whites don't realize that they're killing the vibe/culture of the city by slowing displacing "the culture" from their areas. o well, I guess their always "whole foods" :bryan:

People need to lower their means of living and put pressure on these greedy landlords to lower prices of these apartments.

its only so much low you can go..:francis:

thank god i live in the jects with no con edison...

but these landlords are basically letting these buildings go to shyt, so the older tenants can get out and they can jack up the prices..I do think its gonna get to the point where either everybody stands up or just give up

A real estate bubble will burst soon in NYC, cause when the next recession is global, there will be no more foreign wealthy people to rent these absurd price boxes called apartments.

Green point? You polish fam?
I wish I had done more research before i moved to this neighborhood. It's fine, but I'd rather live somewhere further out and cheaper. I didn't have much time to find a place.

I agree with you. Just think I'm going to get tired of it and move to Atlanta or something.

Then again, the jobs in NYC are great. Even though I like my job and have only been here for a few months; I still check out job ads. There are just so many good opportunities here. I interviewed for a job that gave Fridays off during the summer. Where else could you find that?

A lot of other cities aren't as laid back. My bosses come to work in shorts and t-shirts. Even the amount of PTO you get is better here.

Either you are lying or you are financially stupid with your money.

200k after taxes bout 130k

Capture.png

4k x 12= 48k for rent

82k left

food for the year 10k....ridiculous number for one person but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and say you eat out 5x a week cuz ya ass wants ruth's or beauty and essex 5x a week

transportation to work and back for the year 5k

67k left

Where the fukk is the rest going :stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime: Don't give me no student loans cuz with 67k in the left over you should be able to pay that off in 2 years tops :stopitslime: You should be ending the year with 67k in savings and you're complaining about NY being too tough. I know nikkas living on 60k in NY making it happen.

Like I said early....either you flat out lying on what you make or you are just someone that is throwing 5.8k in the strip club every month
