Correct me if I'm wrong, but Frank barely wrote any of his material, right? I'm not talking about the established songs he did covers of. I'm talking about original songs that debuted on his albums. I believe he barely wrote any of that stuff. From what I understand he DID do SOME writing though and collaborated with song writers.

That was back when in the 40s and 50s though. Wasn't it common for singers to sing stuff others wrote for them? Weren't the Beatles in the 60s pioneers partly because they started being in complete control of the song writing behind their albums? I need some music-heads to fill in some of the blanks for me here, but I was listening to one of my Sinatra albums the other day and just saw some parallels between him and Drake

Drake will go down as the modern day trash can
:trash:
I haven't listened to Views yet. I don't really know if I like or dislike Drake but i'm still disappointed in him for the quality of "his" recent work. Views had so much hype leading into it

if Drake tries to call himself hip-hop's Frank Sinatra then the Jay beef might really start.
I know people call Jay the hip-hop Frank Sinatra, but looking at what Frank did (no disrespect to Frank, but essentially elevate songs written by others with his sound and style), I feel that is way more Drake than Jay. Jay created songs

Francis Albert Sinatra didn’t write the songs we know and love.

But Ol’ Blue Eyes was the songwriter’s greatest friend as he could take a tune and make it one of the most famous songs in the world.

Put it this way, singer and songwriter Paul Anka took a little-known and somewhat-uninspiring French ditty and turned it into possibly the best-known song in the world with a little help from the man simply known as “The Voice”.
The songwriters behind Frank Sinatra’s great music - Sunday Post

That sounds like Drake's contribution to music :yeshrug:

This is ridiculous man. I never in my 20 years of life seen so much people have nothing but negativity towards someone that doesn't even know they exist. It's like a contest for ya nikkas to see who hates someone the most! That shyt is mind boggling b.
