I'm saying this thread should have been in the bushes a long time ago.....I feel like I'm discussing this again with a more intelligent version of Master Teacher.
I could have sworn I saw a similar thread to this last week and the week before

You Germans are insane. Manstein was bytch slapped by the Soviets.
Taking France and Poland is no bragging rights compared to the rest of the war. That's when the big boys came out to play.
Best general ever![]()
I don't think Genghis Khan, Alexander, Sherman, Võ Nguyên Giáp, and Hannibal can be compared directly, so "best" isn't something I could definitely say.
Hitler didn't send his best field marshal to North Africa, though. He sent Rommel, who had early success by following the tactics that Guderian pioneered.

No.if they played their cards right
was Rommel his best field marshall?Germany would have come much closer to taking the Soviet Union had it not been for the lend-lease act. This is according to Stalin himself. Hitler knew that the Soviet Union would get into the war eventually, so they decided to get the jump start, and they made huge gains. The Soviets were in dire need of supplies and vehicles.
Ultimately Hitler's biggest mistake was giving a shyt about North Africa. Sent his best field marshall there. I also don't think they suspected the US to split forces among the Pacific and Europe. The American Generals were god damn brilliant. We may never see generals of that caliber again.
Holy thread title, shyt almost fukked my cerebellum up.
