This team went 66-16 in 2009.

But today is weaker :dead: you just saying shyt to say it.

:wtf: How the fukk are the 05-06 Suns similar to the Warriors? The Suns had 1 ball handler, 1 primary scorer who didn't even play in that series due to injury (Amare) and ontop of that they didn't even play defense.

You're really trying to compare a team with Shawn Marion as their leading scorer, to the Warriors who have 3 guys that can get 30, with one of them being a historically elite isolation scorer.

(1) Regular season records mean nothing. A scrub squad last year won 73 games. And were exposed in the finals as frauds. And in 2009, we saw in the playoffs that LeBron's Cavs team was all smoke and mirrors as garbage ass Dwight Howard beat them.

You honestly need to stop relying on regular season records as if they mean a thing.

(2) I never claimed the 05-06 Suns were as talented as the Warriors. I only said they played STYLISTICALLY like the current Warriors. The 2006 Lakers were able to hang with them by slowing the game and pounding them down low with Kwame Brown and Lamar Odom. And just as the present day Warriors are significantly more talented than the 2006 Suns so are the 2009 Lakers more talented than the 2006 Lakers who were able to force the Suns into a 3-1 deficit by exploiting their advantage in size and slowing down the pace.

I love how you are avoiding the actual basketball analysis of a matchup between the 2009 Lakers front court versus the 2017 Warriors like a plague. Kobe haters like yourself love reminding us every time the 2009 & 2010 Lakers championship teams are brought up that Kobe benefited from having the best frontcourt in the NBA at that time with 3 talented back to the basket 7 footers. Now you are acting like Gasol, Odom, and Bynum are a bunch of nobodies.

You gotta love the hypocrisy.

Prime kobe wouldn't be the best player in today's game

Prime Kobe is the greatest player in NBA history.

But this series wouldn't be about him. He would play possum until the 4th quarter.

The 09 Lakers would beat this years Warriors because of their front court. Gasol, Odom, and Bynum would DOMINATE the series. They would pound them down low every possesion. The Lakers would milk the clock down to the end every play. And then in the 4th quarter with the game close, a fresh Kobe would end it.

Just think back to what the Cavs did in 2015 to the Warriors with Mosgov and LeBron dominating down low and multiply that by a factor of 100. That is what the 2009 Lakers would do to the Warriors.

They would beat these dudes to submission.

It's arguable prime Kobe wasn't the best player in his own day either :russ:

Every single NBA player disagrees with you. Including your boy LeBron James.

But lemme guess some analytics nerd knows better than LeBron James and every other NBA player from that era that said Kobe was hands down the best player in the NBA.

A team that went 7 with the Yao & McGrady less Rockets is going to beat the Warriors in 6 or 7 according to these dudes.

A team that couldn't stop the Nuggets offense is going to stop the Warriors.

They may as well just say they aren't basketball fans and save everyone the trouble.

and this Warriors team was about to lose to a team of Kawhi and nobody

you overrating the hell out of these warriors

Celtics were built to beat the Lakers. They had 3 great defensive bigs in Kevin Garnett, Kendrick Perkins, and Rasheed Wallace. Those guys were able to neutralise Gasol, Odom, and Bynum. And then they had 3 great perimeter defenders to guard Kobe in Tony Allen, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce.

2008-10 Celtics were a tougher matchup for the Lakers than the 2017 Warriors.
Ray Allen an elite perimeter defender :laff:

And that Magic team was garbage, they played with Rafer Alston as their starting PG during the playoffs :mjlol: You cannot say the 09 season had stronger teams than this year, it's an absolute joke to even try.

The Warriors are not similar to the 05-06 Suns, period. You tried to compare the two teams, when one is top 3 offensively and defensively in the league, the other was 16th in the league defensively at the time. And stylistically they do not play the same game, the Suns had 1 man running their offense and everyone playing off him, the Warriors let 3 different guys run offense.

Why do you keep saying Bynum? He was coming off a torn MCL and barely did anything in the playoffs, he averaged 6ppg and 4rpg during those playoffs, he was basically a non-factor and was severely limited in mobility. He played 17mpg for the playoffs and shot 36% in the finals, yall dudes have a way of trying to warp the best version of a player onto a team even though Bynum was not at his best in 09. The Lakers put Bynum on the floor and the Warriors do nothing but involve him in screens, the Bynum that played in the finals vs the Magic wouldn't even see the court vs the Warriors because his knee was fukked up.

Or struggling to stop Aaron Brooks -

And answer the question I asked your lackie, are the 2009 Lakers a historically great team, YES OR NO.

No but that's because the era they played in was tougher. If that team played in this era, they would be considered a historically great team. Btw, that Rockets team and Nuggets team is better than any team the Warriors have faced so far including the game 1 cavs.
