did you nikkas bury ur heads in the sand during the playoffs? Ohio State won usi SEC formula. crazy run game with Elliot and a fast defense. they're the team that beat Mariota and Oregon fraudulent pass game.

this wast a down year for the SEC. our recruiting classes are too dope for us not to ascend righe back to the top next year.
nikka OSU won using Urbans formula. :camby: With that Bamas formula.

after the worst season(and biggest disappointment) in Bob Stoops tenure, we should still finish with a top 15 class if everything holds. That's not too shabby.

Now we gotta get back on track next season.

That is all that I was saying in my earlier posts. SEC is the best conference but their reign of complete domination is over. But no one is talking about the coaching aspect. Look around the country and notice how all the non-SEC powerhouses have upgraded coaches in the last five years:

Texas - upgraded from Mack Brown to Charlie Strong
USC - off sanctions and upgraded (somewhat) from Lane Kiffin to Steve Sarkisian
Michigan - upgraded from Brady Hoke to Jim Harbaugh
Penn State - off sanctions and upgraded from Joe Paterno to James Franklin
Ohio State - upgraded from Jim Tressel to Urban Meyer
Florida State - upgraded from Bobby Bowden to Jimbo Fisher

Those are all young, dynamic coaches. Meanwhile the best coaches in the SEC are all in their sixties (Nick Saban, Les Miles, and Steve Spurrier). There is going to be more parity in college football going forward.

that not an upgrade. the only reason i'm not predicting USC to win it all next year is cause of that racist Sarkisian.

Never said the sec wont win a chip nomore. Im saying that dominance yall had is over. You living in the past. The past two years the best sec has lost in the chip game n playoffs. Hell the two sec teams lost in bowl games last year, and this year the sec west might as well stayed home during bowl season. These past years a sec team pretty much automatically was gonna be in the title game. Those days are done now. The gap between conferences are closing, and whats even worse for sec teams now is that old argument of, well the sec just beats up on each other is done after their shytty showing during bowl season.

one year. one fukkin year. before ya'll nikkas start talking trend, can we at least have a sample size greater than one? no one in the SEC was yelling we had dominance over all of college football after LSU beat Ohio State in 2006 to start the streak. the first time I can remember talk of the SEC's dominance was when Auburn beat Oregon in 2011 and the streak got to 6 (with 4 different champions).

lets see if the SEC looks as shytty as it did this bowl season, next year. if that happens, then I'll admit you might be onto something. but till then, last year was nothing more than an abberation/outlier to me.

:comeon: Auburn was seconds away from a shocking upset (considering the point spread). IMO Alabama was the best team in the country last year. Auburn was just lucky against them. If there was a playoff, McCarron and the boys woulda won last year.

You just gonna disregard the beating the Sooners gave them in the Sugar Bowl?

I take non-title bowl games with a grain of salt. and you should too. just consider how bad the sooners looked this year after the hype they got from that bowl game.

large trends like the SEC west going 2-5 are legit but any single bowl that ain't the playoffs are really meaningless IMO.

:pachaha: He wasn't prepared for that game. I doubt even Watson could have went to Auburn and showed out on his first start. If you look at the game tho, he struggled a lot in the first half but as he got more comfortable you started seeing flashes. He has the ability to extend plays with his running and has a cannon arm, he's going to be good.

Yes Watson would have. Dude early enrolled and he spent all summer studying the playbook. Dabo was shocked that he knew it so well already prior to the UGA game. Dude is very smart...had a 4.0 GPA this past semester also. This was his first TD pass...his 1st drive of the game.

Trust me...he would have been prepared off top.

This was his first real start with first string reps all week

And that was with no running game and a makeshift O-line that was average at best. If Clemson had LSU's O-line and running game they would have played in the playoffs. And if LSU had Watson then y'all would have been way better on O...no doubt.

Watson highlights from when he actually played

Now we gotta get back on track next season.

Hopefully, Lincoln Riley can work some magic with our QB situation. I hope Baker Mayfield or Trevor Knight is the answer. We have to be more efficient on offense next season because I have little to no faith in our LB or DB corp. Since Montgomery got promoted to co-DC, hopefully the defensive play-calling will be better. We'll have a fairly bigger problem if Montgomery settles the defense next season. He will be looking for a bigger pay-day than the one he got this season. It would be well-deserved too. If that happens.... Montgomery>>>>>>Mike Stoops Teams will offer Monty a sole DC gig.

And we still have Kish who is destroying any chances we have of getting any quality LB's other than DeBerry which is still a shock in itself.

I'm thinking Mike Stoops is still only around b/c he couldnt find anything else. Bob wont throw his brother out in the cold. LOL

Maybe that'l motivate Mike to go back to the drawing board and re-learn football in 2015. We've picked up some good DB recruits that need to be developed properly.

Has Mont ever called a defense before though? Even if he does well this year, he probably wont leave that soon....but we'll have to pay him b/c he's recruiting very well.
