This has been a huge problem in the real estate world for a while now. This type of scam is more common than you would think. Also highly unlikely that the FBI catch whoever is behind the scam. That money is gone. It’s over for them.

Someone tried to scam my old lady back in the 90s. She put a down payment on a car and the guy disappeared with a big chunk of her money.

The guy didn’t know she knew a bunch of ex-cops and other goons. She used to treat a few of their mothers in hospital where she worked and would check in on them at home. They tracked the guy down and got the money back. Found him hiding in a closet
