14 days is based on a confidence interval that I'd imagine covers the vast (vast) majority of cases.

Not necessarily, we are still on lockdown and there’s no flights. So realistically we can’t get any of the new cases from China. China is hit with a second wave because they lifted their lockdown way too early. All we can do is continue with the lockdown and social distancing, and pray for a vaccine
I live in Hong Kong and this isn't true. Look up our numbers, they are decreasing day to day. We are hovering around 30 confirmed a day and it's mostly imports. Not sure where this person is getting their info from.
