Just reading the news on this shyt just makes me angry sometimes so I've avoided it. The only solution is to get Trump and all his sycophant hangers-on out. Until then nothing will change. There was some reporting that states like FL have reduced testing by huge amounts. I think I read they were at 70k a day at one time and dropped to 20-30k a day. There is a concerted and long term effort to decrease the appearance of this in the population. Just negligence and dysfunction that is hard to tolerate on a day to day basis for months since this shyt picked up in February and March. Just exhausting.

There is now some radiologist, not an epidemiologist or anyone with infectious disease experience, leading the Pandemic Response team who is pushing for herd immunity over everything else until a vaccine is developed. Read about that a few days ago in just the headline and opening paragraph, and I just had to close the window because its the shyt like that is irritating. Again, herd immunity minus a vaccine can require up to a 70-80% infection rate in the population and I don't think we've even broken 10% based on some calculations and studies so far.

It should’ve been obvious to everyone for a little while now that they are going for herd immunity.

So after the failed 'flatten the curve' strategy didn't pan out they decide to adopt Sweden's failed herd immunity strategy. :francis:

flattened the curve worked at least in NY, the goal was to avoid patients exceeding hospitals ICU capacity. they needed time to gain get more resources and beds available.
