Ethical question:

In NYC the only option for me to get a vaccine is under the pre-existing condition exception.

the condition being obesity. Anyone with a BMI of 30 and up qualify as obese and can get the vaccine.

my BMI is 30.1 :ohhh::mjlol:

should I sign up? I have no health issues, still young, etc :patrice:

I feel bad taking a vaccine when plenty of others need it more
I heard Joy Reid say on Deadline White House this afternoon people from the Upper East Side and Westchester are coming to Harlem Hospital to get it while people around here and hospital staff are skeptical and reluctant. You willing to take it and it's available, take it.

They need to stop mixing in indians with brehs to make the figures look better.

I am not sure how they are sure its structural only. Maybe it's the high rate of racism (and classism) in the country rather than it being the "system" only.

This was the reality post the 2008 Great Recession in the UK

Black people more likely to be jobless in Britain than US, research reveals
This article is more than 8 years old

During last three recessions, unemployment among black men was up to 19 percentage points higher in UK than US

"Black people in Britain are more likely to be unemployed than those in the United States, especially during recessions, with successive UK governments "failing to protect minority ethnic groups", research reveals."

"The Guardian reported last month that the current recession had left almost one in two young black people without a job. Li agreed with the analysis, pointing out that the trend had been noted in 2010. "You have to discount those that are economically inactive, including those in education. The student population is very high. Once you just looked at those who are unemployed, then you see that young black unemployment runs at about 50%.""

We had a "breh" on here saying everything in the Uk was cool. Just looked him up and he has been banned so probably wasn't a breh.

Not sure if you’re British or not but if you think I’m talking like a c00n you won’t like a lot of Ghanaians and Nigerians here either. I grew up on a council estate with a single mother in her 20s so there’s no point pulling the class card.

Who’s to blame if you’re born in the UK and work in McDonald’s in yoaur 20s or 30s?

There's a general saturation level among white folks in the UK. They are tired of hearing black folks talk about equality. They simply no longer want to hear about it.

The next few months will be interesting.

I think that nationalism may just be getting started here.

You think so? English are not direct. They are not even honest with themselves.

No way is middle England going officially right-wing as they would destroy the lie they tell themselves about being "fair, honest, good, liberal, non-racist".

No way will large swathes of the population self-identify as being "officially racist".

Not to mention that the establishment have kept the UK underclass to heel and the UK stable for hundreds of years.

The editor of the 2nd biggest selling daily paper for the working man was "Piers Morgan". That is how sewn up the elites have the country. The man telling the working class how to think and feel was and is anything but working class, and yet they welcome it.

Even the undercless in the UK in their hearts agree with and support the class system. They genuflect to their perceived betters, hold their near equals down and disregard those they see as beneath them. The sheep control each other and ensure that members do not get ideas above their station.

It will be a cold day in hell before they finally decide that they have had enough of their masters. They love their betters and they love to position themselves as the betters of others based on "breeding".

Far-right (non-establishment) parties cannot get close to running the UK because they lack the trappings of establishment and privilege that class-bound people in the UK would demand before they let them lead. A cabinet full of cockneys is an impossibility. At least for the present.

No party peopled by "cockney spivs" would ever be come close to challenging the establishment because "cockney spivs" would be seen as being inherently and indelibly not "the right type of people". No matter how smart they were. It's true. When was the last time you saw a working class person, with working class ticks, in an establishment position?

Reminds me of that old tory grandee who wanted to insult another rich politician, and did so by telling him that his family was beneath his as they were the type that had to buy (rather than inherit) their furniture. If you come from a proper family you inherit several hundred year old furniture (along with stately homes). If you have to buy furniture your family is nobody.

Because of this the UK is frozen in time. is seen as one of the most stable democracies on earth and is one of the last places for a race-based (or anything other based) uprising.

I see racism increasing, tacitly supported by a racist establishment, but I cannot see the threat of a revolution or a real right-wing party gaining influence or power like they do on the continent.

Interesting history and perspective. I hope to come to the UK one day to ride the buses and trains of London. Bus system is extensive.

No disrespect breh but having a BMI of 30.1 means your inherently unhealthy. No need for any other co-morbidities. I'm in the same boat myself and I have two little boys. Got my 1st dose on Thursday. Scheduled for my second dose on the 18th. Not trying to go out on some sucka shyt due to this virus if there's anything I can do about it.

Aloha State
i think society will turn back to normal for a decent amount of time this year and then there'll be a record scratch moment
We hit tier 3 here in Hawaii groups of up to 10 for going out I think capacity is still at 50 percent but it’s slowing staring to open back up more haven’t broke 100 cases for a few days seems to be back to somewhat normal I was actually working by the airport this past week and saw more tourist renting out cars there was a time aloha stadium parked about at least 3000 cars or more due to nobody coming to the island

I think we are going to see another surge especially once it gets warmer

I think the winter forced people to stay inside and people had less reason to go get tested and a lot of testing sites shut down because of the weather
