You think so? English are not direct. They are not even honest with themselves.
No way is middle England going officially right-wing as they would destroy the lie they tell themselves about being "fair, honest, good, liberal, non-racist".
No way will large swathes of the population self-identify as being "
officially racist".
Not to mention that the establishment have kept the UK underclass to heel and the UK stable for hundreds of years.
The editor of the 2nd biggest selling daily paper for the working man was "Piers Morgan". That is how sewn up the elites have the country. The man
telling the working class how to think and feel was and is anything but working class, and yet they welcome it.
Even the undercless in the UK in their hearts agree with and support the class system. They genuflect to their perceived betters, hold their near equals down and disregard those they see as beneath them. The sheep control each other and ensure that members do not get ideas above their station.
It will be a cold day in hell before they finally decide that they have had enough of their masters. They love their betters and they love to position themselves as the betters of others based on "breeding".
Far-right (non-establishment) parties cannot get close to running the UK because they lack the trappings of establishment and privilege that class-bound people in the UK would demand before they let them lead. A cabinet full of cockneys is an impossibility. At least for the present.
No party peopled by "cockney spivs" would ever be come close to challenging the establishment because "cockney spivs" would be seen as being inherently and indelibly not "the right type of people". No matter how smart they were. It's true. When was the last time you saw a working class person, with working class ticks, in an establishment position?
Reminds me of that old tory grandee who wanted to insult another rich politician, and did so by telling him that his family was beneath his as they were the type that had to buy (rather than inherit) their furniture. If you come from a proper family you inherit several hundred year old furniture (along with stately homes). If you have to buy furniture your family is nobody.
Because of this the UK is frozen in time. is seen as one of the most stable democracies on earth and is one of the last places for a race-based (or anything other based) uprising.
“It is impossible for an Englishman to open his mouth without making some other Englishman hate or despise him”
- George Bernard Shaw
I see racism increasing, tacitly supported by a racist establishment, but I cannot see the threat of a revolution or a real right-wing party gaining influence or power like they do on the continent.
