If it's "case closed" why would Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna each be working on boosters and/or improved vaccines for the "variants"?

:patrice:

Mikael Dolsten, Pfizer’s chief scientific officer, said that the company believes that its vaccine is still effective against current variants, but that it wants to explore both adding a booster of the already available vaccine and testing whether adding a booster with a new version of the vaccine, which, like Moderna’s, would be designed specifically to target the B.1.351 variant of the virus, which seems most likely to reduce the effectiveness of the vaccines.

:patrice:Still effective, booster just to add a little more protection.

Are you actually going to get around to answering my question? It's a serious question. And it's one that should be easy enough to answer.

Those Germans can be anal but on the other hand, thank god sometimes for a bunch of people that ignore presentation and just get down to the facts.

who said it was case closed? The vaccine is effective at reducing spread, reducing hospitalization and reducing deaths. That is all that matters. A booster is only a good thing. I don’t know why you’re being anal about this.

answer: It's not "case closed"

ERGO: check your conclusions

as we all don't want to go in circles, I'll just leave it at that.
