I'm really trying to avoid having this resolution but...being honest it just may be the beginning of the end.

At the least humanity is changed forever. It sounds as though it will flare up anytime we do what humans do and congregate.

Right now a lot hinges on if surviving infection affords you immunity.

If not, well this maybe our flood story. Our mankind would be on the way out.

But I'm probably going too far...

It's definitely not over. :mjlol:

I only work in a small clinic in a small part of Florida, but (+) cases that had jumped up over 5 fold in June are already down in July.

Now, obviously many places including my state of Florida are still struggling greatly, but it is getting better at least compared to how it was last month. :francis:

Unfortunately people are still dying from this and the death toll continues to rise, but I'm beginning to be hopeful that rona will be squashed in the near future (12-15 months). Not completely eradicated ofc, but at least controlled to the point where shyt is pretty much back to normal.

Moving forward, hopefully this pandemic teaches muhfuggas to practice good epidemiology principles like washing their hands frequently, not eating bushmeat that can get them sick, staying home when they are symptomatic, sanitizing commonly used surfaces, etc.

The effects of AIDS and cancers are much more systemic than COVID, I think. Plus, cancer is not a single disease; there are so many types that are caused by different things and affect different cells/tissues.

Working on a vaccine for COVID is like working on an old Corolla whereas cures for AIDS and cancer are like working on a mid-engine Ferrari, shyt is much more complex.

Good points. It's definitely something to take into consideration and somewhat of a relief to hear. Either way, I'm not thinking we might get an easy way out of this anytime soon possibly, though these are definitely reasons for some optimism. Gonna still be preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best from here on out however

Wait, how up to date are you on COVID-19? The more I hear, the more complex this disease sounds. I'm seeing things like it affects your blood, various organs, and even nervous system. That's not just some respiratory illness.

On top of that we don't know the long-term effects for those who have "recovered".

Re-read what I typed and what you posted. :beli:

Cancer does the same things and the effects of AIDS causes issues throughout the entire body. Just because it's a respiratory illness doesn't mean the disease won't affect other things besides the respiratory tract.

And ofc we don't know the effects on long-term health because this strain of coronavirus was new, hence them calling it novel; coronaviruses are not new, but COVID-19 is. The same thing could be said the epidemic flu strains of the last few decades. :skip:

If I'm not mistaken you said AIDS and cancer are more systemic "I think".

Basically implying COVID-19 should be simpler to research and come with a vaccine.

My post brought your point to issue. Questioning whether it really will be simple as you suggest. It's already arguable that COVID-19 is NOT just a respiratory disease. My understanding is it's a blood disease.

We're not on the same page. I said "I assume" because I am not a medical researcher, I simply work with the clinicians.

COVID-19 *is* a respiratory virus, just like the other viruses in its family are classified. Just because it is labeled as such does not mean it cannot or does not affect other things.

As far as the vaccine, an HIV vaccine would be theoretically possible. You couldn't vaccinate ppl against cancer (at least not with our current understanding of medicine) because cancer is an umbrella term that actually encapsulates multiple types of diseases.

So yeah, compared to curing AIDS and cancer(s), COVID should be an easier fix. (Again the lab I step foot in is the one that diagnoses diseases, not the ones that research them.)

In any case, stay safe coli dude. :salute:

Kusher basically helped shut down a national pandemic response because a member of a team stated that in march it was only impacting democratic states and as a result, it did not make sense POLITICALLY to provide any federal response and they could just pass blame on to the Democratic governors. Remember, this was also the time that Kusher stated the PPE and testing supplies the federal government was buying all up was for "OUR STOCKPILE" when asked about sharing it with the states being impacted.

Not only were they neglectful, they purposely bought up supplies to make it harder for Democratic states to handle the crisis. Now that red states are impacted, they are opening that shyt up.

That's alright. When Dad goes to jail Ivanka's p*ssy is up for grabs (:sas1:Don't ask me how:sas2:)
