His mother he has to care for. He told me stories about how he almost got killed several times. We talked about life. He told me regrets he had and best moments of his life. At the time he was talking and on some oxygen. Then, out of nowhere, 2 days later he had a heart attack and died. shyt fukked me up when the nurses told me. He was 45.

Another one is a Spanish girl who is a black militant. She has only Black friends because she told me her Latino part of family was racist to her because was too tan. She has small kids. She was always facetiming the kids and telling them how to do this and that. She was getting them ready for eLearning. Then I heard she had clots in her lungs. She had to get intubated cuz her oxygen levels were crap. Before they put the tube down her throat, she cried and pussed herself cuz she was so scared. All her organs shut down. All of them. She in the worst shape I ever seen a. COVID patient. Now all her 3 kids gonna live with no mother. She is 42.

I am telling y all this to say protect y all selves. This virus is no joke. Do not be selfish. A strain that is harmless to you might be deadly to your family. Be wise.

I am so sorry that you are going through this! I can’t imagine being on the front lines right now but you are appreciated. Thank you for showing up daily and saving those you can, and just being with those who are losing the battle. I’m sure that’s gotta be tough to see the dead and terror these patients may be experiencing. Does your job have counselors you can talk to about your experiences? My health system has a free counseling program for all employees. Any little thing you can do to try to increase self care during this time is vital.

Thanks breh. My job is to provide research drugs but I act like an advocate and help the nurses get food, watch patients so they coukd eat and I do Facetime with some families.

This shyt is putting lotta extra cash in my pockets but the reward is knowing somebody was in their dying moment and you comforted them. There are some good doctors down here in S FL but some of them dont care. Same as nurses who wanna do Tik Tok and shyt.

Just appreciate life, brehs. Be as good as you can be to other people. This shyt is no joke and as black people, we are more predisposed to dying from it than other races. The Latinos are getting ravaged by this COVID too. Its just overwhelming and it seems there are no solutions at times.

From firsthand experience, there's a lot of people out here who aren't exactly doing everything they need to do to protect themselves, who could be asymptomatic, but don't know if they have Covid-19 and don't wanna know. Ignorance is bliss to people, so unless you're out here coughing up a lung, you're not trying to find out bad news.

We play loose with the recommendations. It's like "wear a mask" but to some of us it's like "I gotta cover my nose AND my mouth tho?" or "it doesn't count if I'm on my phone. iPhone gotta see my face and shyt." Social distance from people, "but not my friend though, he good. Nah I trust them." Wear a mask inside the store, "nah Imma just be in and out, what's the problem?"

I'm a summer guy through and through, but I'm almost welcoming hoodie season out here because nobody's gonna be out at 2am sharing a hookah when it's brick outside. Nobody is gonna be all outside unless they need to (had this virus popped up leading into winter, people woulda been more inclined to stay among only their family or close ones. With that said, I think NY in general learned early from all those deaths and cases that we got and most of us take this seriously. It's just that there's times where people here let their guard down, even for a moment.

Besides staying at home I only go to work, grocery store, and gas station. My job required me to come back in which sucks. They did enforce a mask mandate back in May.

I'm still hesitant about meeting up with friends. I had a woman I was talking to occasionally asking me to hang out but I'm just cautious of catching this virus. Especially if I catch it and accidentally spread it to my family.

My fam up here in DMV is starting to get real relaxed like most people. My cousin had canceled her wedding few months ago that was originally scheduled for September.

Now I'm hearing she wants to at least do just a smaller type wedding event next month for her parents and aunties/uncles etc. instead of the original big plan.
