Most dudes in this thread seem a little too happy that cases are rising back up. I know the real reason for that too but I will keep it to myself.

Nobody is happy about this. I was actually looking fwd to being social again this year but I had a feeling we was about to see an increase. I've been preaching that this was gonna happen for the past month. Not cause I wanted it but because I could read the tea leaves and see some of the same markers from the first go around happening again. Things were eerily close to last year and I saw it coming a mile away.

Lot of folks are hoping things lock back down. Whether it’s because they are shut in losers with no friends anyways who get off on others being as miserable as they are, or broke and hoping to continue to eat off the no rent, no eviction, extra unemployment gravy train, news ratings/clicks go up when they can pedal the negative etc. there’s multiple reasons folks are happy to report rising cases

"In the most likely scenario, Lessler says, the U.S. reaches only 70% vaccination among eligible Americans, and the delta variant is 60% more transmissible.

In that scenario, at the peak in mid-October, there would be around 60,000 cases and around 850 deaths each day, Lessler says.

Each scenario also includes a range of how bad things could get — the very worst end of the range for the most likely scenario shows about 240,0000 people getting infected and 4,000 people dying each day at the October peak, which would be almost as bad as last winter"

:snoop:

shyt is looking like its going to get bad again. I'm not sure if American can handle going through another set of lockdowns.

not happy about black folks suffering, especially folks who took this seriously and did what they could to reduce their chances of contracting the virus... but I'm definitely ready to return to the wfh life

Damn, here we go again.:francis:

Saw on the news most cases are from late Millenials and Zoomers. No surprise.

Getting sick ain’t hard, so How is this version easy to catch? :dwillhuh:

Any new symptoms reported? Or same as before?

It is over. The data everywhere else vaccines are plentiful says so. No one thinks that data is solid from that study, except you and dr ding I imagine

People really need to start qualifying their statements.
"The data everywhere else" is what data exactly? From what sources? What specifically does it contradict in this study?
"No one thinks that data is solid from that study" Who is "no one"? Can you be specific? What are the issues they have with the study? What data is not solid and why?

I don't think it's smart to automatically disregard findings that contradict consensus. Consensus changes with new data and that new data should be analyzed objectively.
