I heard today that one of the senior centers in my county will fully reopen this Monday for breakfast and lunch. That shocked me, with the spreading of the delta variant, which is said to be more severe. Looks like they're going after the seniors again. I qualify to join the senior centers because I'm in the 55 and older category. But I'll be still at home having smoothies for breakfast, and a homemade soup mixed with beans and vegetables for lunch.
There are four senior center locations in my county. When the pandemic first hit, three of them switched over to drive-thru services only. The only one that completely shutdown was the mostly Black location. And guess what? This mostly Black location is the only location that's fully opening this Monday. Looks like they're using this location to see if the coast is clear, or to see who's not vaccinated, or they're straight up trying to kill us. I know my county is racist, but this is kinda obvious.

My daughter school had started some summer "catch up" classes, she only went for 2 days. Started coughing this morning, positive Covid test.
She is the first person in my immediate family to get Covid. She feels ok though, I hope this is as bad as it gets for her.

They made it seem like one you got the vax you were in the clear. I did not fall for that but I know plenty who did. I know people who were the most pro vax people you would ever meet. They celebrated their FIRST vax shot by ditching their masks and promptly caught Covid

I said in another thread that messaging on this is only off because... folks are so ignorant that you can't adequately explain the nuances of something like a pandemic to them.
Folks are too stupid to understand that yes, if everyone is getting vaccinated, we can remove our masks. However, if folks don't get vaccinated, and a mutation comes about because of the virus moving through the unvaccinated population, then we need to put our masks back on.
Folks are really too ignorant to understand that minor nuance, let alone more complex issues involved with a dilemma of this size.

Is it true that the vaccinated people created the Delta variant because they had the antibodies injected, and you can only get the Delta from a vaccinated person?
Looking to travel soon so my mom says, maybe you should get the vaccine since you're going on a plane. Me reluctantly, ok I'll get it tomorrow to be on the safe side and hope I don't get any serious side effects.
