Cowboys used film of Carson Wentz to try to show Dak Prescott how to be a better quarterback

Here’s a fun clip of Dallas offensive coordinator Scott Linehan showing Prescott (and Cooper Rush) film of Wentz in order to illustrate his point about throwing deep and giving ‘covered’ receivers a chance to make a play on the ball. Wentz is the only young QB I see consistently step up in the pocket through arm tackles. The Big Ben references on his scouting report were dead on.

craziest part is he was excellent at difficult/splash plays last season, was absolute money hitting the seams on crucial downs, but he missed a lot of routine throws from clean pockets.

as incredible as his season was there's still room for him to improve on the simple things, shyt's scary.

Wentz isn't a track star, he relies more heavily on innate awareness and subtle mobility to buy himself that extra bit of time.

The tear isn't gonna effect his physical ability to still do that, it's the mental aspect of feeling capable/confident in eluding pressure that's gonna dictate his season.
