People were abusing Cocaine in the 70's, too. I met a guy who snorted so much, his nose had a hole in it. He could take a paper towel, and drag it between both sides of his nose, inside.Snorting coke and smoking crack result ib very different highs. The crack high and subsequent addiction are stronger. That's a fact. Brehs in the 70s were using coke recreationally. You can't smoke crack recreationally. That's the difference.
Drug use was always a thing. It simply became stronger and addictive with crack. That's not to say nobody was addicted to shyt in the 70s. Obviously heroin was a thing.
Crack was used recreational, its when people couldn't afford it anymore that shyt became negative. A lot of people smoked woolas, but they were able to quit when they saw how addictive it was, and moved on, others couldn't do that. They needed to feel good, but since crack hit poor black communities hard, they had no net to catch them when that high wore off, and they needed more to feel good. Remember cocaine drops your dopamine FAST, and smoking it even faster. If you have money, you have access to food, and less stress, it allows you to fix your dopamine levels. If you are in the hood, its CONSTANT stress, so that aint happening as easy, so this is how addiction starts.
