I made that post before the majority of S2 episodes were out.
I think he he just exaggerating a lot of incidents to make his stories interesting, and give them volume. Like adding on things he heard from others, and making it seem like something that only happened once, happened multiple times. What makes his stories coming off as fake is he seems to be following a basic fantasy form a story telling trope "Good guys take out the evil tyrant."
But it's working so he should keep doing what he doing.
Edit: But like dude been saying, a lot of this depends on what prison you went to, and who you was locked up with. My dad is a smallish town Jail CO, and never witnessed anything like this, the shyt he heard from CO's that work in Cook County though
and this is just jail.
