When he made that interview he was in hiding after being stabbed, beaten up and shot up by some other hood guys, some of which were just ordinary trash rappers.

Just cause you are a street dude doesn't mean that you are Tony Montana cause you have a marketing strategy painting you that way.
Any of these drill rapping fools that we clown on here were just as "hood", they aren't as smart, eloquent, as good rappers nor do they have the same machines and marketing campaigns. They'll still shoot you though and they won't flee the city when someone shoots them they'll go to the exact same spot.

People wanna always say either you are fugazi or you are El Chapo :snoop:

People need to stop acting like back in the days street killings were all about getting money and hustling or whatever.

I remember cats getting KILLED over fukking Starter jackets. Life taken over a jacket...like it was nothing. Gunplay breaking out over bullshyt like someone bumped into someone while they drunk with their crew at the state fair.

It’s sad that we’ve gotten to a point where people get on some self-righteous “back in my day” shyt about the crack era. :dead:

Back in the day, you could get your balls stabbed in the alley with an ice pick because you looked at somebody wrong. But it was okay because nobody talked about it on Instagram. :troll:

Is 50 dealer than Wu Tang, Ruff Ryders, Bravehearts, or Terror Squad? :sas2:

Tired of these CACs worshipping 50 and downplaying actual Hip Hop History. The same CACs that talk shyt about Chuck D's political activism.
I would have to defer to a NY cat for that. I am from Pittsburgh. To be honest we where in a bubble in the city. We knew all the music but did not really know the back story of the artists other than what was publicly known. We were too far from Philly/NY to really get a accurate story.

I know all of the public stories about Curtis and his antics coming up. But I really had no way to know how true they were.

The only crew I had knowledge about on a street level was WU. They used to frequent Steubenville Ohio which is not far from Piffsburgh. They had set up shop there and clashed with the locals. I used to be there with my cousin and we dated chicks there. Grimy ass area :sadcam:

The brehs there told me first hand of the wars they had with Wu and how they were wiling the fukk out. Those Ohio brehs were with the shyts. But each time they talked about Wu they always begrudgingly gave them props because they had the balls to come there and openly sell crack and went to war with the locals with zero fukks

That's the point, the streets was always in the back drop of the industry but now it's front center, the main thing

it's like a reality TV for white america at this point the new version of cops only you get to see all the deaths of the rappers when nobody saw tupac or bigge killed, like we ain't got footage of their last moments like you do all this new rappers

Why do rappers of 50 generation and before get props for being real Gs here, but everybody turns into Rev. Calvin Butts when it comes to drill era rappers many of whom are even “realer” (realer criminals)?

You know, on this board it's always dependent on how popular da artist is and how favored they are.

Simply put the difference between street nikkas now and then is modern street nikkas were raised (or rather not raised) by the killers and drug dealers of yesteryear and think all that fukkery 90s rappers talked about is normal.

If anything for as legit as guys like 50, Jay, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, etc were, it says alot about how they werent the most thorough of street nikkas as most of the worst of the 80s/90s street guys are dead/in jail/dusties. Well unfortunately those super street nikkas had kids who dont have a generation of sane black folks directing them.

The crack era forved a lot of nikkas to the streets but these new nikkas have No 80s crack era or Reagan gutting the govt assistance programs as an excuse, just pure ignorance driving them. But i dunno how i can blame them as they were set up to fail.
