Credit score system getting exposed

Back then the system was severely rigged, they could deny you a loan if they didn’t like the way you were dressed, let alone your race. That’s why in old movies people wore their best to go to the bank in hopes of getting a loan. Now, the qualifications are spelled out on most banks websites and you can apply for a loan without stepping foot in a bank. Back then you couldn’t even get a loan for a home “across the railroad tracks” no matter how much money you had.

These systems are safeguards against discrimination.

I was watching an episode of Good Times last week and the family (post James ) was trying to buy a home to get out the ghetto and every last one of em went down there dressed to the 9s and with whatever scraps of cash they had to get a loan

I don't have a problem with credit scores. If your a minority with a perfect credit score and you are denied credit from a certain bank, thats big money for a lawsuit.

Its the predatory loans and interest rates.

The problem with tik tok and the internet in general is nothing is cited/credited. People make videos and articles that sound legit with a few facts thrown in and give information with such authority it sounds true and factual. But this guy literately referenced a video game character.

These guys are creating videos and threads for clicks. They have to give a new angle on a subject in order to keep the views coming in. Comparing a free democratic nation to communist china in regards to this subject is almost as stupid as bringing up a video game character.

Crazy thing is, it annihilated many of their own opportunities which is one of the reasons why so many of their own are pissed today.

They had an assumption the "other" wouldn't have as much. However, when you have rich people from other countries start coming here because they have a better economy, practice strong group economics, have strong communities, etc. then they drive prices on things up. Not to mention the people your laws tried to keep down, but overcame your bullshyt. Now your people are the poor ones getting kicked while they're down by the bullshyt obstacles you put up.

Exactly once people realize that classism is the major issue in this country change can be made. Racism is a tool used to divide and distract the poor from realizing who is pulling the strings from behind and reaping all the benefits. I'll never deny that there is systemic issue out there. But best believe me and mine climb that wall with room to spare. So I already know what time it would be if we started off on a even playing field. But I also never sat around and complained Abt the game while others passed me up. I'm not cut from that kind of cloth but unfortunately alot of people are and it's sad to see.

Its not completely wrong… it’s just incomplete. Paying your bills on time is VERY important for a good credit score. It will actually end up affecting multiple factors if you don’t.

I don't think it's a coincidence that there's so much disinformation on tiktok. The way he attempts to equate financial/lending credit to China's social credit system - in which you can lose your ability to ride on planes/trains if you play your music too loud or get caught looking at the wrong website - is ludicrous. But given the origin of the app is any of this surprising.

The fact that he used a video game character as an example of ex-cons getting accepted for credit 30 years ago said enough to me to know he was full of it.

I was approved before we ever started looking, and I'm pretty sure the bank didnt care where we lived

I mean you can make 30k/year and still have an 850 credit score. The credit system helps black people imo but personal accountability seems to be lacking.

If you're only making 30k with an 850 score it doesn't matter because your salary is not enough to be independent. You're living with someone else. Maintaining a high credit score is very stressful on low income individuals. Investing in a credit score is not investing in your wealth

Funny cause when I was financially irresponsible and phukin off payments, my credit score was garbage. 575 in 2016 and 605 in 2017.

Once I got my shyt together and made a concerted effort to be responsible, my FICO score today is 804. 2.75% on my mortgage.
