First let me say, I have not watched this shyt since it aired and even then at one point shortly after this "New Blood" angle I stopped watching WCW period. I've seen some random matches and highlights and shyt but MOST of this will be all new to me and probably most of u also. This is probably going to take a while but hopefully I can stomach it through to the end :pachaha:

Backstory.. Vince Russo came into WCW sometime in 1999. He was credited for being the main guy behind the scenes who started pushing the edgier storylines in WWF and rollin' with new talent, creative booking. I won't argue this point just know that WCW expected him to come in and save a sinking ship. Bischoff was out as the head of creative/talent relations. He was credited for the nWo angle and he signed all of Cokeboy's main stars like Hogan, Nash, Hall, Macho etc. Problem was a lot of these stars had guaranteed contracts and creative control. Russo comes in and tries to steer the ship in an edgier direction. It's horrible from the get-go but he did have some ideas clipped or neutered by the "good ol' boys" also. He goes way overboard and the executives cut his balls off. So now what do they do? They decide to have Russo and Bischoff REBOOT Nitro together. So here we go.

WCW Nitro "REBOOTED" April 10, 2000. Pepsi Center. Denver, Co.

Your announcers are Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson and Mark Madden (:scusthov:). The first thing we notice is WCW now has their very own titantron. The new setup is nice as hell tbh. They got the titantron and a long walkway to the ring. They also have screens in the rafters in each corner. A big fireworks display to start the show.

A gang of muthafukkas are in the ring. Some familiar faces like the Harris Brothers and Finlay. Meng is on the outside of the ring. I think I see Stacy Keibler in the ring also. Now more people are walking down the ramp and into the ring. Vampiro, Billy Kidman w/ Torrie Wilson, Scott Steiner. Jeff Jarrett is out and he has the United States title. Jarrett gets on the mic and talks some ol bullshyt about how he was the chosen one and the "good ol' boys" ruined it. He calls out Vince Russo. This is Russo's first television appearance. He looks young but also :flabbynsick: at the same time.

Russo gets on the mic and says the same shyt how the "good ol' boys" held him back but now everything will be different. He's going to push new stars etc. Now Bischoff comes out and they shake hands. Bischoff shoots on the "established" WCW stars like DDP, Sting, Sid, Lex Luger, Hogan. He says they never bothered to show up to work. Out comes all of them minus Hogan. Kimberly is with DDP :noah: and Liz is with Luger :ehh: They all look unhappy. Bischoff and them want to vacate all the titles prior to Spring Stampede next week. Sid doesn't wanna give up the big gold strap but Eric threatens to fire his ass so he gives in.

So now after all this we see fukkin Hulk Hogan finally arriving to the arena and he has no idea what's going on. We see him chillin in the locker room and Sting walks in :leon:
Sting says to Hogan "Bruh, Eric is on your ass baaaadd" Hogan is like :beli: "how bad?" Sting says he's on his nuts. Hogan says ugh I'll go take care of it. Before leaving the room, Hogan looks back to Sting and Sting goes :whoa: "Hey man I ain't ribbin ya!"

:dwillhuh:

I'm not going to analyze ever match just post the results and add more if I see fit. The whole first half hour at least is all setting up the "NEW BLOOD" and pitting them against these established big money guys which is interesting. I'm not sure if it makes sense for Hogan and Sting to just be chillin like that but it's not a total shoot or a "HEY this is all fake!" moment just yet. We'll get to those later. This is very much worked/shoot where you can see these guys as the guys who make the money and have the power backstage and Bischoff/Russo are saying look, they are the problem. They are holding up proper developments and taking away from the new talent. The only issue is most of these guys are still very over and the new blood are receiving boos already. They are already positioned as the heels while the old guys are being cheered. :mjlol:

I'll finish up this episode tomorrow.

I remember Bischoff making a reference to the time Sid stabbed Arn Anderson with scissors in this episode thinking the crowd was gonna know what the fukk he was talking about :mjlol: They completely no sold it.

Bischoff then thought the crowd hadn't heard him so he REPEATED it and got exactly the same reaction :mjlol:

Wcw's dying days >>>the wwe past 8 years... as convoluted and disjointed as their product was I never got the feeling that they weren't trying or didn't care about the product. They were throwing everything and anything at the wall, the vast majority of it sucked but the effort was there, you haven't had that with the E in years. Very few are booked in a meaningful way and even then it's booked it such a safe and boring way.

I miss WCW ...had the major stars not had major guaranteed contracts that invasion angle would have been something else

best thing that came out of it was Rock vs. Hogan at mania 18

There's always that one person. :heh:

I'd rather take what I'm seeing now instead of a Judy Bagwell on a pole match or David Arquette winning the World Title.

All fukkery isn't good fukkery.
I'll give the WWE is this, the little that is good is better than whatever good wcw was doing at the time. But give me horrible fukkery over not even trying:manny:

That said both products are unwatchable
