And to answer the premise of this thread hiring is lower because the interest rates on loans from banks is high right now due to fed rate hikes so venture capital money flow is low. When venture capital money flow is high investors are willing to give out way more seed money for start ups and other tech companies so hiring goes way up. The industry has cycles. But yall just listen to clickbaiters on youtube.
Right now companies are being forced by investors to turn profit rather than grow precisely because of that which leaves less entry level positions available because they need people that want contribute now. There will be a bunch of people who bow out of tech in the next year or 2 and the survivors will be able to eat good when the hiring picks up

Please don’t give me these generic platitudes. Headcounts have been cut and expected productivity is up. This ain’t about how fast you can work, it’s about increased workloads. Most my jobs, most people did close to no work on Fridays. The past 3 years, Fridays been as loaded as a random Monday. Workloads used to be light when everyone over hired, they are now “normal” to 2-3x
