Been playing a lot this weekend and about 12 hrs in near the end. The weapons and shooting are the highlights. Every gun has a charge sequence and once the shot goes off it's an explosion.

Inventory management seems like it's more important than even RE. Extra slot upgrades are key.

Bloober has great atmosphere in their games and it's another strong point here.

Not finished yet but story is a sci Fi slow burn. I was halfway in and still guessing. Interested to see if they can end it well.

Overall its a mixture of RE, Dead Space, Alan Wake, and SH2 (atmosphere not puzzles). It pulls from a lot of different survival horror I just wonder if it's unique enough for it to be memorable.

Oh and it's got some of the best timed jump scares in games or movies. I usually think those are cheap but they're so well done I had to give it up

It's heat like that? I have it on both my PS5 and Steam wishlists.
IMHO yes, people complain about the difficulty but I think its well balanced with how tight you have to be with everything in your inventory. I haven't been this stressed playing a game since I first played dead space 1 back in the day (and maybe resident evil 7 on psvr)

:francis:oh ok. I might skip this then. My day job is stressful enough.

I beat it last week and had fun with it. Don't know if it's a must play for everybody right away. Melee is worthless and I stopped using it early on. It's got some story stuff I had issues with too but a solid 8/10 and will do a NG+ run at some point.

It took me a while to figure out how to be effective with melee. You have to shoot the fukkboi necros in the kneecaps to make em fall then run up on em and stomp on em twice then distance yourself to blow out the knee caps again. Pretty much 2 shots and 4 stomps do the job early on.

And what I mean by stressful is that with resident evil 8 or even silent hill (which I love too) I didn't have an issue trying to figure out if I had enough resources going into a new area or not. This game you'll have like 5 pistol bullets and 3 shotgun shells going into an area covered in flesh n shyt wondering if you should go back to the safe area to spend energy buying a few more bullets or health or something
