I can understand that sentiment, but I think a lot of that comes from the praise of his catalogue, probably something similar to that of Nas reputation as the golden child up until 97.

Nah. It would be true if what I see outside reflects the love this nikka gets by critics. But alotta younger people fukk wit Cole more. But this nikka gets shytted on by the critics. Son has the highest rated hip hop album in history and has a Pulitzer Prize for a mid ass album. This is all hip hop. He ain't doing some shyt so spectacularly different where I can't judge for myself and use discernment. And I been a Kendrick fan since the jump. I put alotta people on to son.

Is that his fault he gets these accolades? There's always a rapper who gets all the awards while the others are overlooked. First one I remember was Em. Then Ye. Then Drake. Then Kendrick. As far as fans who hold him in such high regard, I couldn't care less who's overrating him. That's their opinion. My top two are set in stone (Pac then Nas) and everyone else gets in where they fit in depending on my mood. I never try to convince anyone why someone is better than someone else, but what makes Kendrick not that good? He might not be Lupe level lyrically, but he's no slouch either.

Same here, and Kenny ain't even rapping THAT well to me. Whole strategy is corny recording all of that shyt at once and dropping pieces at a time, the quality has been up and down and breh has hasn't flipped anything Drake said about him like a true back and forth . I am not impressed with these cats/they can't battle for shyt.
