I always wondered why he’s never done a record with Treach. He always bigs him up. Same thing with LL. Hopefully he continues to have guest on his albums and do more collabs with other artists. I hope in this streaming age, we never hear a Revival type album from him and he continues down this path of dropping albums the way he wants without chasing hits anymore.

I know Crook is his boy, but he was trying to hard to prove it. I appreciate that he knows what to ask rappers but he was too over the top with the pandering

Same thing I wonder. He has the opportunity to work with anyone he wants. He gets Young MA on his album, yet people like Redman, Treach, LL, Rakim, Kane, people he's been bigging up for years don't get a call? And he finally gets Black Thought on his 10th album because the hook of the song says "my era, my era" :what:

So that's what it took???

Em is one confusing/conflicting individual.

Here's my problem with the interview

1. Could have sworn Em said "make me king" on "lose yourself"...but I guess we could attribute that to be king of anything

2. Could have sworn when Crook was trying to prove Em had friends that Em produced something for his family's project...now he's saying Royce is producing the whole thing

3. I don't like Em going from "why would I wanna destroy something I helped build" to "I never said I'm not a guest". A guest is an outsider that temporarily visits.

4. Crook and Royce don't have the catalogue to be on the level that Em says they are. Royce is a hell of a lot closer than Crook though

5. Blatantly ignoring Em's adversaries

6. Crook's inability to point out Em's weaknesses and shortcomings

7. Em admitting he's literally rapping about nothing at times..and being cool with it

8. Them saying who they think is underrated...yet not saying who's overrated and giving examples of a "favorite rapper" who shouldn't be on a greatest list...or at least not as high

9. Em hating Relapse...but talking about playing it for LL but not sharing any of LL's feedback

10. No Joell shoutout

11. Em gassing up simple ass wordplay

12. The Young Ma(n) dikkriding

13. Saying Ra birthed G rap and Kane

I have a lot more of the interview I didn't hear yet though

His handlers probably won't let him.

Im not sayin Em is this incredible producer. But Pharrell aint a rapper.

Im going to have to look at Havoc's credits. From your list tho, Crook may be on to something:russ:

It’s one of the reasons Em is alright by me.

At this phase he should have an acoustic guitar, weird angry old man world views, long hair and be telling us hiphop doesn’t inspire him/ whatever talking points certain people use when they distance themselves.

He still looks and carries himself like someone proud to be associated with the culture and from what I’ve read of the interview still participates closely in what’s going on.

Looking forward to getting to listen to this.
