People seem convinced this is a) strategic genius b) will guarantee his re-election and I dont see either. It may delight registered Republican voters, but you cannot win an election on that base alone.

I could see Dem turnout being much more motivated than 2016 by the incitment and open displays of racism. In the long run, this is probably good for the Dems 2020 chances.

Its probably even good for Omar, who is getting record donations, and will certainly be re-elected by a huge margin in her deep blue district. If I was a Dem strategist I would want them to carry on
