i agree with this thread
this is another reason why i always compare 90s rap to 70s rock
its a space in time that will never happen again
pureness
i feel bad for you losers that like modern day hiphop
it sucks
keep lying to yourself while i stay in the 90s
You sir, are correct.
Greatest Album ever. Most influential too, on the low. Especially with the tape itself being Purple. That was just awesome.
illmatic comes in an extremely close 2nd, but what sets them apart and gives Rae/Ghost/Cap the nod isn't anything to do with music. Its actually cappadonnas dance moves and frankenstein-ian aura in the "Ice Cream" Video.
There stood a man every bit of 6"3" tall, moving around the most gorgeous of women you could have found in the casting areas of foodstamp offices, womens shelters for the abused (waiting on low income housing), and NYC parks & recreation break rooms. Handpicked most likely by Method man himself. Not to be intimidated by these Queens, Cappa Pendegras commanded the camera and glided through scenes like a classically trained thespian. His blank stares let you know he was serious, and his archaic apparel was truly ahead of its time. (You only started to see the emergence of headbands coiled around your throat in street basketball circles years after) These stunning visuals only made the Classic song....THAT MUCH BETTER.
but which albums would you say are the centerpieces of the culture?Chronic can go fly a kite. Criminal Minded is the other joint.
ya those are some dope albums. as far as influence goes paid in full could def be #1I don't know man.
I personally have more reverence for straight outta Compton and early Cube albums on the westside of things.
Paid In Full & criminal minded along with Nation of millions.
There's so many genre defining albums that happened pre corporate takeover.
i thought tha same shytyo i really thought this dude was talking about terror squad cuban link lmao

what is there to say about Cuban Linx that hasnt already been said?tharealness, to have an opinion without basing it on ne examples or facts leads me to ask 'do you actually know WTF rap mu$ic means?'
I go back to it pretty frequently.. you discover new shyt with each listen.I revisit this album every year .
I don't know about you guys , but there's very few albums I consistently go back to and listen to in its entirety .
This is one of those though .
Timeless music .![]()
