Yeah the cover 2 was largely implemented because of Moss :russ:

Hell you'd often see 3-4 nikkas try and run him down to no avail.

Did we forget this nikka caught 23 touchdowns in one season at age 30?:merchant:

Most nikkas don't even get 30 in a career...but in one season?:damn:
People forget Randy made defenses switch up and figure out some new shyt ASAP. Green Bay drafted 3 cornerbacks the year after his rookie season to try and slow him down

True game changer right there. 17 TD's, 19 yards per catch as a rookie, turned Randall Cunningham from an out of the league has been to a MVP in one season

Was Culpepper an equal partner in that duo with Randy? I feel he was just flinging the ball up making Randy do all the work.

why is this myth still going?

culpepper's best year was without moss. i dont even think he had jake reed. i cant name any of his receivers off-hand that year.

Honestly T.O. and Moss are the most fascinating personalities at the WR position that the league has ever seen. There are plenty of WRs who are great today but none of them display as many sides to themselves like Owens and Moss did. Calvin and Andre Johnson, Fitzgerald, Julio, Green, Beckham Jr, Antonio Brown, D. Thomas, these guys are all good but they're so bland in comparison. The only guy I see in this generation that's similar is Dez Bryant.

It's crazy to think that Owens will be eligible for the Hall next year

Wait so you don't already know he things that moss did better than TO.?I can't argue with someone that didn't actually watch the player.

Let's start with drops.... Moss flat out had better hands.

Nicca?

No you just didnt??

OK the stats speak for themself:

Targeted:
Moss - 1742 TO - 1706
Receptions: Moss - 982 TO - 1078
Total Rec Yards: Moss - 15292 TO - 15934
TD: Moss - 156 TO - 153
Career Yards Per Game Avg: Moss - 70.1 TO - 72.8
Receptions Per Game Avg: Moss - 4.5 TO - 4.9

Its funny you say that, its crazy to think that Moss had more passes thrown toward him but yet has less receptions than TO. I mean lets do the math 1742-982= 760 incompletions.

I do know Moss was a better run blocker than Moss

Yeah people love to bring up T.O.'s drops when compared to Moss, but T.O. made way more catches through the middle, tougher catches overall as well.

Yeah T.O. had his moments when he would drop passes and left you like :wtf:, but I give him the slight edge over Randy Boss.

Replace Moss with T.O. in that superbowl against the Giants and the Patriots probably win. The Giants played perfect defense against the Patriots because they knew that Moss was not going to go through the middle often. Rushed Brady and allowed the others to beat them.

T.O. would have done whatever it took to get them through. Outside of that Touchdown catch by Moss in the superbowl...he didn't play well in either one he was in.

Yes again....760 and incompletions one way or another his way. I know thats broad play by play, but there is no way one can just chalk that up as all those he was even under or overthrown right? He has his nice fair share of drops too....

I'm trying to think when was Culpeppers best year without Moss?
it didn't happen. moss was there in 2004. i think what they are partially remembering is that 2004 was moss' WORSE season and daunte's best. so if moss was carrying him that wouldn't have happened.
