Read too fast and thought the title said dj vlad. Khaled and french Montana are out here using the n word and profiting off the culture but silent about real issues. French montana was complaining that his street rap should sell more than Kendrick and conscious pro black rap.

French Montana Believes The Music Industry Is Purposely Focusing On Kendrick Lamar

On the intro to his latest mixtape, Wave Gods, the rapper poses a rhetorical question: “Why isn’t street rap selling like Kendrick?” During a sit-down with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on Tuesday (Feb. 23), French was asked for his own answer this inquiry. Discussing K. Dot’s music and how it was received at this year’s Grammy Awards, French concluded that the powers that be are intentionally seeking to change the course of the genre.

“Because they position him, like they did at the Grammys, as the new music.” he told host Charlamagne Tha God. “It’s not that it’s not the right thing to do, but you see like the whole thing was like Kendrick night. That album don’t sound like nothing that’s out – the whole hip-hop game don’t sound like that… They put him on that platform so they can shift music towards that direction.”
