Depending on who you ask many believe the backlash Janet received during and after was more racial than it is about gender, as I recall cacs calling Janet all kinds of exaggerated vile names such as whore, trashy, etc.

Everybody made Justin the victim when it was clear based on the video he ripped her dress and revealed her breast.
